Holiday Inn Express Oneonta by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"Excellent choice for our weeklong stay. About 10 minutes from Cooperstown All Star Village and very convenient location. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Things that could be improved: only one washer and dryer for the entire hotel made it difficult to get laundry done in a timely fashion. The pool was on the colder side and my son who typically isn't bothered by the cold only lasted about 2 minutes in the pool before he said it was even too cold for him. Only other "complaint" was that the hallways and common areas outside of the room itself were humid and stuffy feeling. Overall though, this was a great choice and I would definitely book here again if I'm ever in the area."

"Best greeter ever in the lobby. Jack was very friendly, immediately came to attention. Walked right up to us and expected pets and loved belly rubs! (Just to be clear, Jack is a very adorable cat). Human staff was very nice as well, was only an overnight stay but it met expectations for an impromptu trip. Room was clean and was properly serviced, bed was comfortable. Didn't have a chance to dip in the pool but it looked well maintained."

"If you're traveling solo and are the type who prefers to be out and about and needs a room just to have a place to sleep, then this hotel is for you. It's not pretty from the outside, but at 1/3 the price of every other hotel around, it's an excellent deal. You get a clean room and a bed with clean sheets. The floor has a clean carpet. The AC is cold. The shower has hot water with good water pressure. You get a desk with two outlets for your laptop and phone if you need to work. The motel is centrally located and Otenanta is a hip town with good cafés nearby. It even has a YMCA if you need a gym. And you get two complementary cups of coffee in your room. The internet is slow, but that for me is not a problem because I get good data service from a wireless carrier and a wi-fi hotspot from my phone. Cheers."

Starlite Motel

"The Starlite was totally pleasant. The room was clean. I've seen other reviews that said that it was dated. Maybe. But it was clean and comfortable. There is a whole kitchen and a backyard space with a barbecue (and charcoal!). The bathroom looked recently updated. There was wifi, cable, Netflix, and Amazon. The bad? The air conditioner was kind of loud, but it worked fine. We had a little trouble checking in. The check in feels not very secure. They write your name on a sign on the door along with your room number. Unfortunately, when we got there, our name wasn't on the door. There's a phone number, but no cell signal at the motel. We drove about 5 minutes to Bellayre and were able to call from there. The issue was quickly resolved. It wasn't a huge problem, but not ideal I guess. But really, overall, we had a nice time. It was just to sleep over night and it completely served its purpose. We had a good night."
