“This is a hotel in a tourist town near mammoth cave national park. It would have been nice to check in and swim in the pool after hiking in the caves and the woods in the 100 degree heat. The front desk clerk informed us we only had 20 minutes before the pool closed ! The apartment is very cool and unique and is in a great location for exploring Cave City and Mammoth Cave National Park although there really is nothing to do in Horse Cave. The apartment was clean and offered many conveniences like a full kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the AC and TV worked well. The only reasons I could not give it a 5 were the entry door and shower. The door is very old and does not offer much security. One kick would easily open it. ……

“House smelled like strong cleaning solution for several days. The bathroom had a different terrible smell on and off during our stay. We saw a roach in the bathroom and another in our bedroom. I did get a response right away from the host and she sent a maintenance man over that day. She said he sprayed for bugs and tried cleaning drains in bathroom. I did not rate the place too low but did want to point out what to expect. Crystal seemed as though she was wanting to please us.”

“Our host was extremely accommodating. Communication was great. We were supplied with firewood and a great place to cook out. We spent our last evening by the fire pit and it was quite peaceful. This is the perfect place if you want a camping atmosphere without the camping nightmares (poor sleep, bugs all night, etc.) Our bed was comfortable, our shower was warm and the kitchen was clean and user friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay at Patrick’s Place.”

“The property itself was as listed, but we spent an hour trying to find it. We had to stop and ask a resident of the area for directions. He said “good luck with that place. They’ve been shut down a few times” He also warned us about copperheads and rattlesnakes. We were never able to contact the host. VRBO offered to find us another place. We ended up staying at a hotel. VRBO said that they will compensate us for the cost ”
