Happy you enjoyed the cabin! Sorry for any issues. Will have maintenance check on the chairs. We had maintenance check on basement toilet. He said condensation issue with the tank because water comes out of the ground at 38 degrees. If bathroom is hot and lots of guests showering, condensation drips onto the floor around the toilet. The hideabeds are older, which is why they are not mentioned as a sleeping space in our listing.

New furniture for living room, dining room and all new bed linens are coming before summer 2023. It is true, the cabin and everything in it is not brand new, but it is a very special place in the forest. The reason we have so many repeat guests and 127 great reviews are the peace, solitude, wildllife and happy family memories our guests remember forever. That is the Summerwind Lodge experience.

So sorry about the can opener. There is always a new can opener under kitchen sink just in case a can opener breaks. We will make sure in the future to communicate this to guests in case they do not reach out to manager if they are unable to locate items. Happy you enjoyed your stay!

We will talk to management about what additional costs would be added to the cleaning fee for this service. We provide four jumbo rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. Most guests find this is sufficient for their stay as there are four bathrooms. Thanks for being amazing guests.

We want future guests to know this review is not reflective of the usual five star experience our guests enjoy. We are always happy to help guests with anything they might need. The majority of our guests feel the cabin is large enough for 20 guests, but understand some families want more room to spread out. We reached out to management to discuss this review: -The bed with issues will be replaced -Repair of the ice/water on the fridge is scheduled -Bath linens had been stacked in the laundry room and put in drawers. We told cleaners to put all bath linens were they are easily visible. -More ice melt was in a closet, but should have been put out on the front deck for easy access by our guest. -We agree Christmas decorations should have been put away. Summerwind Lodge has a 95% five star review rating which is reflective of our goal. Excellent communication with people equals happy guests always in all ways!

Your family was wonderful and welcome back anytime! Summerwind Lodge is a great place to relax and reconnect with family. The baby moose was born behind this cabin about three weeks ago. Many guests feel it is so nice to be surrounded by nature but have all the comforts of home.

Thanks for your feedback. We start having the path to firepit, around firepit and back patio area mowed in the beginning of July as the wildflowers have started to slow down then. We like to leave the forest as close to natuaral as possible but understand some maintenance around gathering areas is appreciated. Happy your family enjoyed their stay!

It is a outdoor paradise at Summerwind Lodge. Island Park reservoir is only a ten minute drive. The wildflowers were in full bloom during your stay. Lucky!

Thanks for the feedback. We have started sending a message to arriving guests to let them know the Welcome book is on the coffee table in the living room so they know where it is. It contains lots of information about the cabin, HOA rules and fun things to do in Island Park. So nice you were able to see the Mama and baby moose! Many guests say they see more wildlife while at the cabin then while in Yellowstone. No buffalo here, but elk, deer, moose, fox , great grey owls are often seen.

The manager did go to the cabin the day after this guest arrived to help with issues with the tv in the living room and the owner was in contact on arrival day through VRBO messenger. Thanks for your feedback. We replaced the griddle in May, but the busy summer season can be hard on kitchen items. We replace our pots and pans every couple of years. We donate the two year old pans and many other household items/furniture to the domestic violence shelter in Idaho Falls. These items are always still in decent condition and will be of great use for another family.
