The check-in instructions were incomplete, leaving us stranded on the street with two exhausted children and a pile of luggage. Not the welcome anyone wants after a long journey.Once inside, things only got worse. Several items in the unit were broken or malfunctioning. The property was clearly not maintained, and the owner has serious issues with honesty. She made multiple empty promises to send a contractor to fix things—none of which ever happened.Worst of all, the health and safety conditions were alarming. Our child suffered an anaphylactic reaction from what we suspect were bed bug bites—we received multiple bites throughout our stay. The unit was stiflingly hot with no way to open the windows, which turned it into an actual health hazard. Despite desperate messages asking for help and a refund, the owner completely ghosted us and refused to engage, even ignoring outreach from Vrbo.This was not just an inconvenience—it was dangerous. We plan to report this property to the UK authorities for serious safety and hygiene violations.
