To admire scenic views of untouched landscapes and tumbling water, make the trip over to Iracema Falls.

Surrounded by woody trees and soft grass, Parque Ecologico Januari is a great escape for wildlife and visitors alike.

If you feel like wandering along a shoreline, watching the passers-by or just kicking back by the water's edge, make your way to Moon Beach or Ponta Negra Beach. Rio Miriti and Tupe Beach are also well-loved.

Want to get away from the stresses of modern life? Make your way over to Bosque da Ciencia and Parque do Mindú. Nature-loving travelers will also have a wonderful time at Archipelago of Anavilhanas and Forest Science INPA.

Schedule a visit to some of the delightful cultural institutions in the area. You might also want to consider a visit to the Museum of the Northern Man and the Amazonia Museum of Natural Sciences.

This world of ours is an amazing and strange place. If you're mad enough to think otherwise, a day spent at the Museu de Mineirais e Rochas and the Museu de Arqueologia should be enough to convince you. The fascinating objects and specimens of the Natural Science Museum are also well worth having a look at.

Love art? There are galleries of all sizes here. Stop by the Museu do Índio and the Casa das Artes for the best of what this creative hotspot has to offer. The Pinacoteca do Estado and the Palacio da Justica are also worth your time if your schedule allows.

How can you ever get a handle on the future if you don't know the past? Head over to the Povos da Amazonia Cultural Center!
