pretty good experience. we valet parked which is $30 a day. room was very clean and updated. room was a bit noisy. noise seemed to be coming from out in the hallway instead of thru the rooms. overall great location and facility.

I had never been to Cincinnati before this recent trip for business. I chose this hotel because I wanted to be downtown to see the city and also because it wasn't a chain hotel so I thought it would be more interesting. It is an old Victorian era hotel that was refurbished sometime in the late 80's. It is modern inside while maintaining some of the older features. I did not go to the bar or restaurant. I did venture out of the hotel to get meals. There are a number of chain restaurants and other restaurants in the area walking distance from the hotel. I did use the hotel gym/fitness facility. The facility is just ok. The equipment was not great but did the trick. The employees were lovely. Very graciously accommodated my early arrival. If you like a window in your room (in other words, sunlight), you may want to upgrade. Since I booked on Expedia and did not upgrade (due to it being paid through my client), my room was on the interior. These rooms are fine because you do get a "balcony" opening to the sunlit interior; just a little strange. Valet parking is very expensive at $35/day. But the valet service is nice.

The moment I checked in I was impressed with the hotel. The staff was courteous and professional. The breakfast was delicious.
We all have challenges on life...my current challenge is being homeless but the peace in this hotel was just what I needed (if only for a few days).

I've read other reviews about the staff and I don't think they were rude Just not trained well (the one exception was Francis, who was a complete sweetheart, greatly enjoyed meeting her). Upon check-in, the young man at the front desk handed me my room key and told me my room number and WiFi password, but nothing else. I had to ask what floor, where the elevators were located, pool hours, etc. He was a little aloof and I can see how this would be perceived as rude, but again, just seemed untrained on customer relations.
The room is comfortable and clean, but the bathroom desperately needs to be upgraded. It was inconvenient to have the tub, toilet, sink and closet all in one location. Wouldnt be too hard to section off the toilet and tub from the sink and closet making it more accessible to others in the room. Just my two cents.
Pool temp was a little cold for an indoor pool, but the kids didn't seem to mind:)
