A great stay
A very grand hotel located away from the main town, I felt relaxed as soon as I arrived. Very helpful staff, this is now my hotel of choice within this location.

Perfection
Once again I’ve returned to Nanteos. The staff are SO friendly, the location so incredibly tranquil and the rooms are beautiful. Parking is also ample. Great stay and I’ll definitely be returning!!

Thank you for your review. As explained we have taken the decision not to open the restaurant at present for the safety of staff and guests. This was not a decision taken lightly as you can imagine it does affect our revenue, but we feel it is the correct decision currently.The confirmation email received immediately after booking highlights this as does the pre-arrival booking email. Indeed the link to our covid questionnaire which is essential for the booking to be accepted can only be found within the confirmation email.

The hotel was excellent for what we wanted, our dogs were welcome but there was no facilities open due to Covid but otherwise a lovely hotel

Perfect get-away for a couples retreat, 10/10
Loved our stay, our time at Nanteos was so relaxing. The hotel, our room and grounds were immaculate. We can't wait to come back when the restaurant and common areas are open from current Covid restrictions. The staff were professional and friendly. We felt our safety and enjoyment were of the upmost importance. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our room within the minute of our arranged room service time, hot, fresh and delicious! The perfect romantic retreat for a couple in need of some down time.

Hotel stay
Hotel was nice and room was comfortable, but would benefit from some extra TLC in the second room and bathroom. Breakfast in room was lovely great choice and quality. Our rooms were at the back of the house which meant no sweeping views out to the front, it was a converted Butler’s quarters but great for family due to the separate bedroom for our son. So, would suggest a front facing room if views are important. We didn’t get the full benefit of the hotel due to all communal areas, bar, restaurant etc being out of use due to COVID. Staff friendly and very helpful. Rural setting, car essential for getting about. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Disappointing room. Helpful staff.
Rheidol bedroom was on the second floor. Not easy to access for anyone with limited mobility. The bathroom was badly designed- the shower screen could not open more than two inches because of the sink unit- so to turn on the bath taps you had to stand in the bath. No instructions in room how to phone reception (tried various combinations but none worked). Would not describe this as a ‘luxury double’- it was a very basic double room. There was only one armchair, two cheap dark brown mugs in the tea tray. Etc. Disappointing. Staff in hotel first class- friendly and really helpful. Good breakfast. Easy parking. Beautiful countryside.

The hotel is very remote, difficult to find. We had no hot water, unable to shower, we used our friends room. Granted they gave us a key to use another room, in another floor certainly not convenient. No internet service, most annoying. They did not offer any compensation for our inconvenience. The room was quite comfortable.

Most enjoyable family celebration
Superb family stay for 7 adults, in 4 rooms for 2 nights. Excellent staff throughout, in a spacious and most relaxing mansion style hotel. Breakfasts were very good, especially the daily cooked traditional fare with top ingredients, and expertly prepared. Evening meals were good but not quite fine dining. The vegetables were excellent. Overall the dinner and drinks were a tad overpriced. Would definitely return.

Disappointing really. We were allocated the Formosa Suite at the rear of the building, which was only accessible by the narrow, steep back staircase. The room itself was stiflingly hot even with the supplied fan. To get any fresh air we had to sleep with the rear external door open. This caused an additional problem in that the kitchen extraction system vented close to the door causing an persistent drone during operation. Not very satisfactory.

Beautiful place, but with strange idiosyncrasies
This is a strange place, both good and not so good. The building and the location are superb. But although the young team are eager and pleasant, there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge who actually knows how a high end hotel should run. There is masses of potential here, but it's not yet the finished product

Beautiful location, good clean room, great shower, friendly staff. But not up to 4 star eg no fridge in room, restaurant menu average (fish & chips, burger ) but nicely cooked, Staff that were keen but weren't quite sure what to do, eg couldn't properly set table for breakfast or replenish fruit juices etc. Could be great hotel but not quite there yet.

It was not all that I thought it should be for the price we paid. There should be staff there that can carry luggage to the top floor or put in a lift. Breakfast was slow but very nice.

Stunning hotel and grounds. Friendly helpful staff, we ate at the restaurant food was stunning and again waiter service was excellent along with superb service at breakfast. Booked the room spur of the moment, as sightseeing for the day and not able to fit everything in 1 day. Had no charger for my phone and young girl at reception kindly loaned me a charger.

I received a call 3 days before staying to ask if I was dining at the hotel, within the first 2 hours of being there I was asked again twice and received a phone call once, well before the closing time of restaurant, felt very pressured into using their dining room, single glazed windows very noisy and constant banging, beds were not the comfiest either, I was looking for somewhere to stay for 6 weeks so chose 3 local hotels to try but with the constant pressure to "dine with them" it made them seem very desperate, It was a no brainier to choose another.

Historic, Elegant Mansion with great facilities
It was truly a pleasure to stay at Nanteos. We were there two nights and would have loved to stay the week and enjoyed more of the Aberystwyth area. The mansion is a historic gem with an elegant and classical feel. The room was very clean and spacious....very comfortable for sleeping. Great views out the front of the building into the fields in front of the mansion. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. A wonderful breakfast as well. We will definitely return to Nanteos.

Absolutely Perfect
My girlfriend and I wanted to take our first weekend getaway and decided on Aberystwyth on the Welsh coast. Nanteos made our romantic stay perfect in every way, we couldnt have asked for better service or a more stunning hotel. We're already planning our next trip back to the mansion!

Fabulous hotel with outstanding staff and service.
Spent 2 wonderful days with this hotel. From the moment of arrival, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. The room was beyond anything that we had experienced before. This hotel is one of the best that we have ever experienced.

Äußerst freundliches Personal. Abendessen möglich für 35 Pfund (2-Gänge)oder 40 Pfund (3-Gänge-Menü). Klasse Ambiente! Hauntingly Nice Time
This is an amazing property with a lot of history. The condition of this property is worn but it is this preservation of history that keeps the atmosphere and hauntings active ... not only in the building but on the entire property. The service was friendly. The staff attentive. The food excellent. The breakfast was great but you need to get to it quickly, otherwise, some items will be gone and not replaced. The peacefulness of this property makes you feel at ease. The hauntings are real - I have verified at least 1-3 occurrences (happened to me) - one in our bedroom suite, one in the morning lounge, and one in the reception area. These stories will be featured in my upcoming book. My husband and I would recommend staying here if you are seeking a peaceful environment, like history, and are not afraid to possibly encounter a non-threatening haunting incident. I seek and write about ghosts -- this is a great place for all types to appreciate a 5-star experience.

We had a wonderful time at this country house hotel. The staff were very polite and made us feel so welcome. The food was excellent and so was the overall service.
