Dirty and outdated

Posted Sep 8, 2014 on HotelClub
Room was dirty..very dusty, carpets badly stained, tub wouldn't drain. Had a fridge built in that had quit running so instead of repairing or replacing it, they just brought in another standalone mini fridge. There was already very little room to move about in this room, really cramped. Cupboards in the little counter area all smelled horribly stale. Much of the property looks unkempt. We'll NEVER recommend this place!!!

Great place to sleep.

I stayed one night. Staff was very nice, the gardens are beautiful and the room was clean and comfortable. I was in Monterey to scuba dive. It's 2 blocks away from Aqaurius and a few more from beach. The heater was amazing, also my room had windows on both sides so in the day the breeze went through the room. There was access in room for TV, web, frig and half kitchen but I was too exhausted to use them. I was by myself but I could of easily stay with hubby and kids, the room had a king and queen.

Never again

Pros: The refrigerator
Cons: everything else
Location: isolated from eating or shopping establishments.
This was one of the worst motels that my wife and I have ever stayed in. The room was old, tiny and shabby. Even the blinds did not close correctly. The room had an old gas fireplace but they would not light it unless you paid extra. The refrigerator in the room did work well however. They did take dogs and will charge you $20 extra for a small dog.

50's Vintage

Posted Jul 11, 2011
Hotel was old and it showed. Room had 50's decor complete with orange formica in the kitchenette with non-working appliances. Not even coffee available on site. No hair driers. Lots of channels on the TV, but it was old, small and in a corner so it was hard to see from the bed, which was the only comfortable place to sit. Plastic blinds on the windows let in the light from the parking lot. Nice fireplace, but a little printed notice said they would charge extra if you used it. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Funky but nice for pet owners

Posted Apr 9, 2011
Had great access to locals beach where dog can run free, Close to conference center. Great food at local deli. Had small fridge, and little fireplace. Small dog run right across the street. And friendly people if you went walking around the neighborhood. Decor kinda old, but had everything I needed1 However, the price was exactly the same booking direct as with expedia. And, apparently they had trouble with expedia paying. cheater2

Only thing missing was a coffee maker.
