Very Disappointed!
We were so excited about our family vacation, until we got there. Immediately upon arrival the spa was dirty, the outside firepit did not work and we followed instructions. It turns on but after u let go it turns off, the patio and furniture was covered in dust and huge cobwebs, you can tell it hadnt been cleaned in month's. Trash on upstairs balcony. We had to have them come back to clean and it dust clouds. Looked like from an old house sitting. There were no extra trash bags. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner they only have small hotel size bottles and the down stairs shower is soo tiny and uncomfortable you cant even move. The house is in a great location right across from beach and it was updated inside except for furniture. The one upstairs bedroom has no closet. Definitely not worth the crazy price, its because your next to beach. Very disappointed

2 Family Visit
This home is in an amazing location, just steps from the sand dunes. The house is well appointed, everyone was very impressed. We had 8 people: 4 older adults and 4 younger adults. The older couples each had their own bedroom, while the four younger shared one room which had a bed and a futon. We spent time on the deck, in the house, and walking on the beach. We all ageee that we would love to visit again.

Lovely house, great location!
We had a wonderful time at Oceanside Retreat! We were in Oceano for a family reunion and the majority of the family rented a house about 1/2 block up The Strand. Due to elderly parents, we hosted the entire group (about 24) for dinner, and the outdoor space + dining table indoors easily accommodated our large group (and was perfect for a family photo taken from the balcony)! The +s: *Easy access for elderly parents/grandparents with the Master bedroom on the ground floor and only 4 steps up the deck. *Beautifully decorated *Equipped with most everything you need *Large deck for entertaining and amazing hot tub *Easy check-in and check-out *Beach access right across the street The -'s: *A BBQ would have been great! *There were so many TV remotes and no instructions for how to use them. My elderly father was disappointed to miss his baseball games (we couldn't figure out how to get live TV, only streaming services). *The house wasn't cleaned upon check-in (previous guests left all the rubbish and linens piled up), but this was very quickly rectified upon contacting the management agent and the cleaners were fast, efficient, and very nice. The other house had bikes, which my kids and their cousins borrowed for the duration of our stay, and I'd highly recommend to other guests having bikes available for tweens/teens/young adults (local bike rental?) as it gave them some independence to ride to the shops in nearby Grover Beach. We really had a lovely stay, thank you!

Perfect Beach Getaway
Everything was great! The place was very clean with updated appliances and decor. The living room was a little small, but the spacious outside deck with fire pit, 8+ person hot tub, bar & outdoor furnishings more than made up for the lack of inside space. The location was perfect; a short 1/4 block walk and you’re on the beach. We debated about renting a place with beach front view, but glad we didn’t since most of those home view were blocked by sand drifts. We would definetley book this place again,

Great Stay!
Pros: The rental agency was kind enough to allow us to check in two hours before the regular time, which was very nice of them and a huge help as we had been traveling (from the east coast) since the day prior. Nice house, new/newer appliances, all in working condition. Very close to public beach access at Oceano Dunes. Lovely deck with hot tub, great for relaxing in the afternoon. The shower on the first floor has a lovely steaming function. Totally amazing! (Use with caution and do not touch the steamer itself!) Cons: The hot tub was a big selling point for my family. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon the chlorine dispenser was empty; we asked if there was chlorine somewhere we could add to the dispenser on Monday morning and were told the hot tub is serviced weekly. By Wednesday the water was starting to turn green, which we reported and received no response. Thursday the water was really green, which we reported and were told the service provider that takes care of the spa had been on vacation and would be out first thing Friday. Our stay ended Saturday morning, and the spa had not been serviced. Obviously it’s a huge disappointment to rent a home expecting to have a hot tub and for it to be unusable for half of our stay.

Great location, easy beach access but really needs AC or Fans!
Wonderful location and really close to the beach but the house does not have AC and they did not have any fans to help with the heat that gets trapped upstairs. A mini-split would really help with the heat by pulling it out of the house. Shower downstairs did not have any ventilation (gets really damp) so we wanted to shower upstairs but it was too hot. A few fans would solve this since the airflow downstairs in nice. Also outside furniture was not uncovered when we arrived and set-up. Figured it would be since it is advertised in the photos. Also a little weird you have to take your own trash out before you leave and start a load of laundry. Otherwise--would recommend due to location--super close to the beach/dunes.
