Palmarin Vacation Packages
Palmarin is located some 65 miles (105 kilometers) from Dakar, the capital of Senegal.
From major tourist drawcards to still-undiscovered gems, Senegal is dotted with fabulous things to see and do. Ndangane, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southwest, and Toubakouta, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northwest of Palmarin are worth a visit too.
Take a trip to Senegal's art museums. These are great destinations to explore, particularly when the weather is less than perfect.
Pack your own equipment or rent it locally, and discover the region's water activities. Scuba diving is an option. Another is surfing.
Make sure you let your tastebuds loose in Senegal's eating establishments. Locals in this area commonly use lamb and pea in their cooking. Try out some popular menu items including thieboudienne (fish, rice and tomato sauce) and yassa (spicy, marinated fish/chicken). When it is dessert, you can also try banana fritters. Afterwards, relax by ordering a refreshing local fresh juice.
One of the most useful compliments you can offer to the locals you meet on your travels is to put in the effort of understanding some common phrases. "Je viens de..." is the French way to say "I come from..." And, knowing how to say "Comment est-ce que vous vous appelez ?", which means "What's your name?", can make all the difference.
When it comes time to pack up and say "Au revoir / À bientôt", you'll have many memories to take with you.
