Cozy Country House in a Rural Community with a Sunrise Mountain View

Adults-only vacation home in Dardanelle
Built in the early 1980s, this modest and unassuming 800 sq. ft. home is located on a dirt road surrounded by cattle pastures and wooded areas. It has an open living room and kitchen, a bedroom with queen size bed, and a kid's playroom/office. This is a perfect place to hide away for a few days and work on your art, writing, or whatever you're needing to focus on. Furnished with cozy country decor, original art, and fresh cut flowers, the home offers guests sunrise a view of Springs, Nebo and Jones Mountains and is just a few miles from the edge of the Ozark National Forest.

The community is known as the Harkey Valley/Sulphur Springs Community, and in the late 1800s was the site of healing waters that brought in guests from the coasts. Today it is home to small farms, pastures, and wooded areas, and is within ten miles of numerous hiking, fishing, bird watching, and outdoor adventures.

The property managers live next door and Punky Rooster and his band of 14 hens are sure to provide a morning wake up call. You can order fresh baked goods and eggs from the Sulphur Springs Truck Patch, which will be hand delivered in white oak baskets to your door. Afternoon and evening meals—using garden fresh produce and specializing in country offers such as beans, greens and cornbread—can be provided as well. All bookings come with your choice of fresh cookies from the Sulphur Springs Truck Patch, including lemon lavender, fresh mint chocolate chip, lemon shortbread, and coyote cookies.

Here are just a few things you'll be near:

• Mt Nebo, Mt. Magazine, and Petit Jean Mountain state parks with beautiful hiking trails and kid friendly areas
• Great fishing sites available at Lake Dardanelle, Blue Mountain Lake, Delaware Bay, and Spring Lake.
• Hollow Bend Wildlife Refuge offers bird watching and beautiful views.
• Excellent family-owned Mexican and El Salvadorian restaurants in both Dardanelle and Danville, nearby towns.

You'll hear the beautiful sounds of coyotes at night (don't worry, our trusty dogs keep them far away form the house) and wake up to roosters crowing, a mule braying, and birds chirping.
This is a great location to get away from the crowds while also being located within a short driving distance to in town amenities. The property managers have grown up near this location and can tell you everything you want to know about the region's history and current offerings.

Most cell phone plans work just fine out here and guests are welcome to use the internet connection at the property managers house if needed. Pets are welcome, but must get along with other dogs, cats, and farm animals. A $40 charge for pets is required.

Breakfast goodies and afternoon and evening meals can be paid after booking! We look forward to seeing you!
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and separate dining areas.

5/5 Excellent

Nice house with beautiful views.
It is a very nice house with beautiful views. The owner is very responsive . Unfortunately I should clean a clogged shower drain myself, but everything else was perfect. I definitely would stay here again!

Love the peacefullness
Beautiful mountain view, everything you need to just get a way from everything. We especially loved the ducks and chickens as neighbors. I can't put into words how much we enjoyed are stay.

5/5 Excellent

Homey Country Cottage
A perfect getaway from Little Rock. The managers have a huge garden next door and they picked fresh tomatoes, for a salad made almost entirely from their garden produce. I had blueberry oatmeal cookies and my little pup LOVED walking around on her leash and the extra pets from friends. There is great dirt road walks for miles or beautiful country drives right on the edge of the National Forrest. I will go back. I loved staying in a real house not overdone and off the grid but on the grid enough I was able to download a library book!
