Beautiful hotel, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. The bedroom was very comfortable and quiet and the seating areas around the hotel were relaxing.

The room was beautiful and clean, as were the gardens and building, and the check in was friendly. If we were reviewing based on that alone it would be 10 out of 10. Unfortunately the fundamentals of a B&B, ie sleeping and breakfast, fell way short. The noise from the planes meant a very disturbed night's sleep. We did not know, nor were we advised, that we were on a direct flight path with planes coming in very low and loud right above the hotel. We bearly slept. The breakfast the following day was a self serve breakfast, with cooked elements sat in candle heated containers. It was clearly more focused on price than the quality of products. We expected cooked to order breakfast, in a 'boutique' hotel. The OJ was out of a carton, not fresh, and there was a lack of serving utensils meaning several sets of hands reaching in to the bread, pastries, fruit ect. Upon checking out we handed the key to the lady at reception, who took the key and simply said, "That's you all done then," before walking away. The fact we weren't asked about our stay is a pretty clear indication of staff already knowing the answer before the question is asked. It was clear there was no point in trying to mention the sleepless night, or at least if we wanted to try we'd have to run after the receptionist who quickly disappeared into the back. The flightpath noise needs to be clearly stated to guests beforehand, so at least earplugs can be purchased in advance.
