“When we arrived the front door could not be locked / unlocked becuase of a malfunction. Called the owner and she sent her grandson to look at it. He blamed the recent heat, but there had been no heat at the property in several weeks. Poor excuse. He finally jiggled the door jamb to get it to marginally work the first night. He was to come back the next day, but he never showed up. We noted in a previous review the same door problem. No action then either. Additionally, the internet was unstable……

“Positive: location, the peaceful feeling of a country house, the view on the fields and horses, cozy apartment. Room for improvement: all 3 mattresses were sagging/broken, we all basically slept on springs. The radiator of the 2 single beds room was so noisy we had to turn it off. Wifi very weak but I guess it does not depend on the owners.”

“Copthorne is now our home in Cardiff every time we are in the City. The staff are always amazing specially Ryan.”

“The parking was good, always available . The room was pleasant. The food was good. The problems were - the position on a hectic main road, I didn’t see it mentioned on there review. The heat, though the weather was not hot you could barely open the windows and then had to shut them because of the noise of the traffic and then there was black mold on the bottom of the shower. The staff were pleasant though breakfast was not explained very well!”

“Breakfast could be improved by adding cheese/cold cuts.”

“very poor experience, wanted to refuse check in and check out during midnight”

“Unable to contact hotel by phone tried for over 2hrs information. Had to return to the hotel to get information.”

“3 Horse shoes was great, for some reason our bedroom got mixed up, was supposed to have a family room but got a double. Staff sorted the issue, i dont know but apparenty is was an Expedia mix up. Issue was sorted by the morning even though we arrived late, cool pub with a kids soft play and decent playground. Foods nice, staff great.....”

“Convenient location, safe, walking distance to food, grocery, public transport. Comfortable room and bed. Effective heating in room and hotel. Fast internet. Efficient and friendly staff. Would stay here again. Recommended.”

“The staff, from the pub to the hotel were absolutely wonderful! Very helpful and kind, telling me certain walking paths to get to the train station”

“We arrived later than planned because of multiple road floodings in and around Cardiff, but staff was really helpful, breakfast was tasty and the whole place was very cosy. We would have loved staying more Nights.”

“Room was clean but an issue with extractor fan in bathroom. Staff very approachable and polite. Spa staff were exceptional. Food was fantastic especially the breakfast.”
