The hotel’s historical significance was very evident which I loved. The location was excellent-close to shopping, restaurants and water. The front desk staff could have been more welcoming but that wasn’t such big deal to me. My issue was my room…
It was clean but the furniture set up was weird. There was no where for you to put your belongings besides a chair or the bed. I looked into the room across from me and it had a desk and what appeared to be a little sitting area. My room could have at least had a desk. Another thing that bothered me is the cleaning staff doesn’t clean the room, they just make the bed and give you new towels. They didn’t even wipe down the sink or shower which both could have used some attention. One other thing which isn’t the hotel’s fault but something to be mindful of which is the noise. You are literally in the thick of things so you get all that comes with it which includes noise all times of the night. My room was on the 2nd floor which is really 2 floors below the main lobby faced a walking path so I got all the pedestrian noise and what sounded like restaurant staff pushing containers on wheels. If you face the water you get all the music, laughing, shouting and vehicles until the wee hours of the evening. Overall we had a good stay and would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
