“This was our first time on the 4X4 Beach and we are in love with the area. We found this house by a drive by the year prior. We read the reviews and booked the house. To be honest we were a little nervous as we have never used VRBO before. We could not have been happier with the host as she answered our questions quickly and politely. She was accommodating and understanding to our needs. The house was the cleanest we have ever experienced as we have been vacationing in OBX for 25 years. ……

“This house made us into diehard Carova beach fans and I cant imagine wanting to go anywhere else in the world besides there, including this particular home. EXACTLY like the pictures, but better. All outdoor areas were amazing, decorated impeccably with seating areas and absolutely breathtaking views. From the adorable surfboard seating area on the 1st floor, to the hammock swing i never wanted to leave on the 2nd, to the screened in porch and open air area on the third, to the amazing crows……

“This beach house was perfect for our family vacation! We had plenty of space for our group, and the home was well-appointed, comfortable, and a cool location on the 4wD beach. We loved staying at the salty anchor. Thank you so much! ”

“Host was very responsive to questions. Jim was very responsive to what we needed. House layout was very nice, we loved the location. Pool area was great. Improvements: was not as clean as I would have liked, example kitchen counter was sticky, food stuck on plates, dirty glasses and silverware, pee on bottom of toilet, we had to do cleaning before we felt comfortable. Some of the furnishings were very old and really should be replaced (like the couch). I realize rental houses are well used, and……

“Excellent remote location! We rented a 4 wheel drive Expedition and my daughter drove an AWD Terrain across the beach to get to the house. The house is awesome and you'll see wild horses everyday. The closest grocery store is the food lion in town so plan accordingly. The owners have the house stocked very well but book this house and enjoy the privacy and driving one minute to the ocean.”
