As a family, we have visited Topsail for decades. This is honestly the first time we could say we had a rough stay. For starters, my father was put on hold for over 20 minutes when he was trying to get into the room as he arrived ahead of me. He had all of the pertinent information, but still was not provided adequate assistance. Some other issues included:- poor instructions as to how the front door lock works- handprints all over the sliding door upon arrival- continual presence of fruit flies from the time we entered through the entire rest of the week- lack of basic necessities for the kitchen/eating (no salt & pepper, no sharp pairing knife, no garbage bags, ONE dingy kitchen towel, no ice trays)- broken, unreliable or dirty items (barely working elevator, second bedroom closet doors broken, headboard on queen bed broken, TV remotes not working thus the TV did not work, no instructions as to how to work the TV, unreliable internet connection, hidden light switches, disgustingly soiled couch, wet piece of carpeting on deck, broken deck chairs, no bathmat in front of the sink in second bathroom, sheets didn't fit the beds)This stay didn't come close to meeting our expectations. This condo would have been adequate to keep a roof over our heads, food cold and provide a shower, but those are all things I could find at a Hampton Inn. We did not receive what we felt was promised in the VRBO listing and it would be great to actually receive even a partial refund.
