This is a cute house, conveniently located to, and with views of, downtown Tacoma and the waterfront as stated. The inside was clean and the kitchen well stocked with appliances, utensils and dishes. The neighborhood seems to be in transition and as others have mentioned Yakima is a busy street. Parking is on-street (18th) only but this worked out fine. Overall, the home met our basic needs as a base for exploring the area but it lacks touches that would make it more comfortable and welcoming. Some are kind of important. Examples: Non-functioning security system (if needed why is this not working?); Outdated memos to guests from previous property manager; Front security/storm door is missing screen or glass so you can reach in from outside to open the lock, thus not advisable to leave the inside front door open for light or fresh air; bath and kitchen towels are worn and mismatched; bed sheets do not fit properly, several light bulbs burned out; no blinds or shades on kitchen windows (important at night); old food items in cupboards (open cereal boxes, etc.) need to be tossed; floors of front porch and back landing in need of cleaning along with window ledges, railings, etc.; maybe lock the basement door from the kitchen since there is no need for guests to access the basement.
