Take the elevator to the city’s highest viewing deck, which is on the 68th, 69th and 72nd floors. See for 40 miles (64 kilometers) into the distance on a clear day from this lookout. Attend an event, such as an album launch, a silent disco or a yoga class, in the View from the Shard area. Capture photos of the impressive view, which includes the nearby sites of Tower Bridge, the HMS Belfast museum ship and Shakespeare’s Globe as well as suburban neighborhoods. Use the interactive touchscreen telescopes to focus in on sites of interest. The screens hold intriguing information about roughly 200 landmarks. Stay at sunset for a particularly romantic view of this historic city. Browse the Sky Boutique, which is one of the highest shops in London, for guidebooks, souvenirs and other items. We chose to stay here due to the opening offer discount, which we were happy with the hotel for what we paid, but would have been disappointed if we had paid more! One issue was the room bed size - we paid more for a king size bed, however, according to their very own receptionist, on the hotels booking system there is no differentiation between a double and a king. Therefore, they charge you more for a king when there's no difference to a double. The bed was 2 single divans pushed together (with one mattress though), so is a king size... So, just book the double to get a king size bed! The receptionist was very rude when we asked to check the room and spoke to myself and my partner in an aggravated manner. Had I been a lone female, I would have felt uncomfortable. Not professional for what is meant to be a 4-star hotel. We were also given a connecting room without being asked if we were okay with that - which we weren't really, it is London! In the rooms, none of the bathroom sinks have a plughole. Therefore, you cannot fill up a sink to wash your face/have a shave. This is likely because they have installed sinks with no overflow hole, therefore you could flood the room if you left the tap on. Our sink also had no hot water. When we reported it at the end of our stay (as we just put up with it), there was no apology. The room was very clean and the location is really nice for a change in London. The thing about the Berkeley is it should be re-named as it bares no resemblance to the original Berkeley Hotel we first stayed in 30 years ago .It has gone through some great changes over the years the Blue bar and Collins room designed by David Collins and didn’t Sir Richard Roger’s design the entrance . Best view of London, plus great drinks and seating. Staff were kind and helpful. It was a much better way to spend some time in London. ### 3/5 - Okay Verified traveler Nice view, if visibility permits. Anything less than 10 miles visibilities is a wasted view. ### 3/5 - Okay Tom Shard was interesting and had great views but not sure it’s worth the price and the crazy long lines to get in. Waited at least an hour in line and then only stayed on observation deck for about 35 minutes. We used a London Pass form access and there was no front of line benefit. If not included with London Pass would not have waited in the line. ### 2/5 - Disappointing Verified traveler Closes too early. ### 5/5 - Excellent Verified traveler Make sure to do the Mary Poppins Tea in the Aqua Shard located on the 31st floor.
