Peruse the exhibits of An Armada Shipwreck—La Trinidad Valencera for information about the boat that sank off the nearby Donegal Coast in 1588. Divers discovered the vessel, which was among the largest in the Armada Fleet, in 1971. Use the displays to imagine life aboard a 16th-century ship. The museum is inside a castle-like structure called Union Hall and opens daily from morning until late afternoon. There is an entry fee for adults, with discounts for kids and groups.
Tower Museum is near the Peace Bridge on the western Cityside bank of the River Foyle. It is within the Derry City Walls. Visit the nearby city highlight of Guildhall, which is several blocks northeast of the Diamond. Parking is available on site at the museum.
