Visiting Old Delhi. Indian Red Chillies sunbathing and getting ready for the next step: drying up and grinding. I visited Khari Baoli, a street near Chandini Chowk in Old Delhi area. Known for its wholesale grocery and Asia's largest wholesale spice market selling all kinds of spices, nuts, herbs and food products like rice and tea.
I got to know a lot about spice trade in India and how it was the reason the British came to India before they took over the country. They came in for the lucrative spice trade of this country. The street, Khari Baoli is a lovely place to visit but a sensitive nose is the last thing you'd want going there. Packed some fiery savoury spices and made delicious Indian dishes.
