“I had a very bad experience with this hotel, it’s not a hotel, it’s not 4 star, there isn’t breakfast, no wifi and the owner doesn’t care. The rooms are not actually attached to the bar/restaurant downstairs so upon check in I I had to ask around as I was not given any instructions, where the barman gave me the owners number and I just had to keep calling until she picked up the phone to tell me the code to the lockbox. “The staff here are absolutely wonderful creating a real home from home! The food in the restaurant was top notch and the drinks were served with care and attention. “Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Flower borders were just lovely! Room (twin deluxe) was spacious, comfortable and clean. One note, we were in room 216 which had view over cafe at back, which was really pretty so not a problem. However, deliveries started unloading at 6am in the morning which wasn't great. The hotel is so close to Beamish working museum, very handy. Few good pubs in the area too.”
