“I couldn’t get checked in until well past the published check in time. The room charges were overpriced from my perspective. I made the reservation to be able to take advantage of the rooftop restaurant. However it was closed for a wedding party. If I had known when making the reservation I would have driven down to Canton instead.
My room faced the street, and the room was not well insulated for sound suppression. When the bars closed you could hear people talking and cars on the road.……
“Older hotel. Broken dresser in our room and paint splatters everywhere. We had to switch the knob back and forth for the ac unit (it had one knob for both controls) Mattress was awful. Sheets felt like sandpaper. Good thing it was cheap.”
“The staff was very nice.
The room was clean but some things needed attention. The ac unit was stuck in a hole in the wall. It’s remote didn’t work so Ihad to sit in the floor to get low enough to change the temp. The tv remote also didn’t work so the only way to change stations was to stand at the tv and physically push the button. Doable but a bit annoying.”
“I parked my truck which is electric in the e/v area and someone else parked so close to me that I guess they couldn’t open the door so they put a big dent on my passenger side door. Also don’t know who designed the showers but the shower head is on one side and the valve is on the opposite side so you have to get into the shower, take a cold bath and wait ten minutes to get hot water!!!!”
“Dogwood Inn is truly a magical place. From the moment we arrived, Jim and Cindy made us feel genuinely welcome. Cindy’s breakfasts were absolutely outstanding—homemade, delicious, and one of the highlights of our stay. Jim was equally exceptional: incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. You can tell they both genuinely enjoy taking care of their guests.
The property is private, absolutely breathtaking, and feels like a dream—a true luxury retreat……
