“We found out quite late we have no hot water. We called the staff who said they'll see what can be done and call us right back. They never called. I the morning, when we asked again for the water to be repaired, they tried a few things and said they should be OK in about 10 minutes. We waited 30. Nothing happened, so we gave up. Also, the closet door was missing a screw and the door came apart. ”

“The room was very comfortable, clean and had wonderful views of the mountains. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and the breakfast was just superb. Although quite a treck around narrow winding lanes to get there...it was definitely worth it. Lovely family-run bed and breakfast...I would highly recommend it. (Stayed 2 nights - 25th and 26th July, 25).”

“We enjoyed everything about our stay at Uplands. The thoughtful, detailed, quality touches throughout - from the fabrics, furniture and pillows in the room, to the delicious home made breakfast compotes and locally sourced fresh produce, Kiel and Stuart have created a gem here. Not to mention the beauty and character of the stone farmhouse itself, which has been sympathetically renovated throughout. What a treat. “We had the hayloft that could sleep 3 but was a win for us as a couple. It was in a out building, with easy access to the garden, bar and dining areas, but was a bit difficult to get suitcases over the gravel pathway. Very quiet, lots of space and windows to open. The restaurant meal and breakfast was fabulous.”

“Lovely, well equipped property in beautiful, peaceful location, but only short drive to pubs for good food and nearby Monmouth - lovely town with great selection of supermarkets and individual shops and eateries. Beware the 2 speed bumps on your final approach to the property. Would definitely stay here again. ”

“We had an amazing place, everything was just perfect. The room was huge, bed very comfortable, hot shower, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, all you need to be happy. The breakfast was delicious. Close distance to the town, Raglan Castle, Puzzlewood, Tintern Abbey and other local attractions. Highly recommended place to stay either for short or longer break. If we ever visit the area again, we'll definitely choose the The Church Farm. ”

“Great place to stay, especially with the dog. Fabulous walking right from the pod door. The pods are great, all clean, the double bed is definitely cosy but their description of the pod on the website is accurate, it is basic but they never profess to be anything else. Barbecue in front of each pod is great, we cooked supper and breakfast on it, for all you carnivores, the butcher in Fownhope is fabulous. If you just need a base to chill out in, this is absolutely perfect.”
