“So, in honesty, I booked this not knowing it was a bed and breakfast… BUT it turned out to be wonderful. It is called “The Sanctuary” for good reason. Dora and Ed are wonder hosts who definitely went above and beyond for our meager overnight stay. The room was clean, the property was so peaceful. Helped my wife and I start out with a slow relaxing morning before making our way to downtown Detroit. Can’t recommend this enough to people who don’t mind a bed and breakfast. If/when we come back to……

“This is a very basic but clean and satisfactory budget option. There was a lot of noise, both from other guests and traffic, but it's a cheap motel in downtown Detroit, so to be expected. The location is excellent. ”

“The Shinola is one of a kind and what a great stay. Brunch at the San Morella was very good. The bar is also recommended. Rooms were gracious and well appointed. I cannot wait to stay there again. Also, conveniently located near Mad cap coffee which is amazing”
