9.1 mile loop starting with a 4 mile hike to the summit. Elevation is 3,200 feet and hike was filled with rock scrambles
Oldrag mountain is one of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah National Park. Taken right close to the summit. The trail and boulders to get to the top was a challenging for a non-frequent hiker like me. I definitely enjoyed the quiet and calm feeling nature brought to me. This hike is, what locals said, the second challenging hike in the area. Yup. Definitely downgrading to the other hikes when I visit back Shenandoah. It took about 4-5 hours to climb up with all the stopovers for photo opps with the lookouts and going down was 2.5 hours. #NationalPark #hike
Man has always held a fascination for mountains. If you are drawn to high peaks and stunning vistas, a climb up Old Rag Mountain is not to be missed.

It’s right in the heart of everything UVA, yet it feels like stepping back in time—without giving up any modern comforts. Jake was incredible to work with—he was flexible with our schedule, made sure we always knew where to go, and communicated better than anyone I’ve worked with before. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

Our room was clean and the staff was super friendly and courteous. We did hope that our room had a microwave and refrigerator. It makes sense to have that available in every room on the grounds. Guests I’m sure would appreciate it. Please consider doing this. Lastly, we could here noises above us from possibly furniture that wasn’t secure. Footsteps are understandable, but the rattle of something above room 5 was a bit annoying. This is probably an eat fix. Overall the property was safe, clean and convenient.
