Charlie’s Retreat provides a rare mix of elegant Sea Ranch design, stunning ocean views, and practical comfort for a relaxing vacation. Designed by legendary Sea Ranch architect Obie Bowman, this 4-bedroom, 4-bath home centers on a great room/kitchen with floor-to-ceiling windows and gorgeous panoramic ocean views. Four ensuite bedrooms flank both sides of the great room, creating ample space for privacy, remote working, reading a good book, or just gazing at the ocean and west meadow wildlife. Both primary suites have stunning views, one with its private deck. All bedrooms have desks and computer monitors too – if you need to work or start on that novel you’ve always wanted to write. With an open concept great room/kitchen/dining room, cook in the well-stocked kitchen while friends sip wine and kids play board games or watch a movie The home’s outdoor spaces are abundant, with an enclosed courtyard garden at the front and an expansive ocean-view deck off the great room. Located on a private cul-de-sac, steps from the Del Mar Center pool, sauna and tennis courts, the trails and beaches are a short walk away and Gualala’s restaurants and shops are a short drive. For those with electric vehicles, there's a level 2 EV charger available at this home (Tesla Universal Dual Plug Type - Compatible for All North American EVs - 48A with 24' Cable). The house also has a whole-house backup generator so you can be cozy during the occasional power outages on the coast. Every room has an en-suite bathroom, so every family had some privacy and our own space. But we spent most of the time hanging in the living room and the back deck. We also enjoyed the fire pit for s’mores and used the grill too. The house is in a great location. We did some walks and a few of us used the tennis courts across the street. It fit our large family, ranging in all ages, perfectly, along with the dogs. The kitchen had every pot, pan, bowl, and utensil you needed to cook a variety of dinners, including a birthday cake. The court yard was perfect to BBQ as well as accommodate the dogs without having to worry about them running off. The views were amazing! There was an intense storm but we managed a few walks down the trails which were beautiful. Loved how every room had its own bathroom. Would definitely come back!
