"We had a great few days at Atherton Cottage. It was cozy and well-appointed, and we enjoyed walking the nearby trails over to downtown Carmel, though also just staying in for a cup of coffee or a take-out dinner. Bill was a helpful and gracious host -- thank you!"

"Cleanliness is their claim to fame. Someone’s constantly cleaning or maintaining something. Staff is warm, helpful, and attentive. This hotel is central to everything. We stayed 6 nights and walked to breakfast and dinner at a different restaurant each day within 3 or 4 short blocks. Didn’t need a car to dine, shop, or enjoy the beach. Although it’s hilly to walk from the beach, it’s easier than trying to park a car. Breakfast at the hotel is meager, however the pool is excellent, heated from April-November temperature in the 80’s. Would gladly stay here again. "

"Great place in a great location! Our room was a little dated but everything was very comfortable & clean, the room had a small fireplace and we had plenty of room for our luggage etc. Breakfast had a nice spread too! "
