Great space. Not as clean as I’d like…
Very convenient 2 bathrooms. Good price. I wish it was a little cleaner. Nice to be right on the river. Great spot between Munising and Marquette. Furniture was very dated. That being said, if I knew the sheets were clean I’d stay again. Cory is easy to communicate with.

Perfect, cozy and comfortable
We (myself and two small children) have rented a handful of cabins and this is the first one that didn't give one kid or the other a scary vibe. Everything was great and we hope to come back during warmer, calmer weather so we can visit Pictured Rocks. The check-out rules are also incredibly simple: basically, just tidy up and take the garbage to the dumpster. If you're coming from the lower peninsula, I highly recommend taking the rt 123 route and stopping at Tahquamenon Falls, which only adds an hour to your driving time. If you're going rock hunting around Two Hearted River/Crisp Point, learn about two-track roads and ***avoid them like the plague*** unless you're entirely confident in your 4x4 vehicle. We got stuck on one next to the "airport" at Mouth of Two Hearted River and we're lucky to have had cell service to connect to 911 and the tow company. (Even the locals were surprised.) If we hadn't, we'd probably still be stuck there. You can get direct, easy access to rocks at Grand Marais, which is only an hour away from the cabin. Just take 28-> the literal end of 77 to avoid dirt roads. Falling Rock cafe & bookstore in Munising has great food an a little indoor play area for kids, as well as books and games.

Nice Cabin
Very nice location. Nice atmosphere and cabin like experience. One bed downstairs was very nice and one upstairs was also. The other 2 beds need upgrades but would work for kids. Some furniture upgrades would be nice too. But we would stay again if we ever went up that way.

Cute River Cabin
The cabin sits right on the Au Train River and we got to watch kayaks and canoes float by. The cabin had great beds, large tv and a wonderful electric fireplace.

Cozy cabin
We had a very good stay at this cabin which we thought was a very good value for the price. The second bathroom was great for four adults on vacation. The location was very handy for activities in Munising and Marquette.

Not what we expected
We knew this was an older property, but didn't realize there would be conduit on the outside of walls (wasn't pictured). Upon arrival, we stepped out of our vehicle and into dog poop. When we walked in, the kitchen table wasn't wiped off. A few other unexpected things were broken furniture and uncomfortable beds. It's not a fact, but we think we heard mice in the walls in the night. Good chance it was true though because there was a trap in the closet. I'd say it sleeps 6, not 8 unless you can fit into a very small space in the loft.Thankful soap and towels were provided. Due to weather and uncomfortable beds, we checked out a night early... we had our bucket list completed.

Old Time Cottage Charm
The location along the River is charming with a long porch to sit on and enjoy the view. The cabin was okay with well equipped kitchen. Furniture is old and worn out and could use some upgrades.

Great stay
Owner was quick at responding to messages. The place was in a great location. I went with family and friends and we hiked pictured rock National lakeshore. There were many amenities and came fully stocked with everything you need. Will stay here again.

Beautiful setting right on the Au Train River
Wonderful U.P. setting. Lots of fishing, kayaking, touring, site-seeing opportunities around. Very clean cottage. Has pretty much of whatever you need. The turn-around time was beyond prompt when we needed more amenities. Even a Wifi issue was corrected within 20 minutes of calling, and that included escalation to Spectrum. Bring plenty of bug spray. Mosquitos were THICK, but so was the entire U.P. June of 2023. Perhaps owners should spray the area so river, firepit and grill could be enjoyed without spraying yourself. River is so clear and beatiful. Plenty of fish, turtles and ducks to be seen. Best river I have ever kayaked on. Mostly 3-5' deep, no rocks but plenty of trees to navigate through. 5 miles to first bridge + 2 miles more to Lk Superior. Only 1.5 mile drive to drop our trucks at Lk Superior. Canoe/kayak rentals available. Lots of room for 6-8 adults (we had 6). 2 bathrooms w/showers.

3 sisters and a bil week
Wonderful property right on the river. Great space for the 4 of us. Maybe needs BBQ utensils, a door on the 1 bedroom, and a dedicated fire pit just for the cottage. Absolutely loved the 2 full baths, especially as a man traveling with 3 females 😀 Definitely recommend and we would stay here again.

Not bad for a cabin, i guess
We arrived in early evening. The siding on the house is filthy. The black moss does not grow there overnight. Inside was ok, other than a lot of cobwebs and we found a mouse trap set in one cupboard. My daughter actually saw a mouse come out of the closet in the smaller bedroom. The air conditioner in the loft so unded like an old car motor. Not really useable. We did enjoy the free kayaks that were available and the other amenities of the cabin

Cozy, cute cabin in the UP
This was a cute, cozy little cabin. We went with a group of 8 (my spouse and kid and I, my best friend and her spouse and 2 kids and her dad) we stayed there comfortably. Check in and check out was a breeze, the owners were incredibly patient with my million and one questions 😂 and very communicative. The location was maybe a mile from the AuTrain swimming hole/ coast of the Lake Superior, and was located within an easy drive of all major sight seeing locations. Wonderful joint family vacation spot and we hope to return next year if available! 😁

Quiet Cottage Right on the River
The location was fantastic! It's a quiet little spot about 15 minutes from Munising and one end of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The cottage looked nice and communication with the host was prompt and super helpful. They even replaced a crockpot the next day when I reported the cottage's had a missing lid. The only downfall to the property was cleanliness. The kitchen pots and pans were very much remnants of visitors past and even had some of their food and grime on them. Apparently from that, things were good.

Cute riverside cottage
The cottage sits on the Au Train River. Quiet peaceful setting. The cottage is well equipped, including an outdoor gas grill. The place was perfect for our needs. We used the cottage as a base for our waterfall tour. Many wonderful things to see and do in the area. We would stay again if in the area. Cory was prompt with replying to our questions. We enjoyed our time in Da UP greatly.

PRIME LOCATION
We had a reservation the week of August 16th and our stay was phenomenal. The cabin is located directly on the river with beach access only a 3 minute drive away. The cabin came equipped with mostly every household item you would need for the stay. One of the things that stood out when we arrived is how clean the cabins were, it was obvious that they take this seriously. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for making our family time one of the best!!

Amazing property
We stayed in " the loft" cabin which offered ample space for myself, my nephew and my father. I loved the wordwork within the cabin and it was clean and organized upon our arrival. The property is gorgeous and sits right on the bank of the Au Train River. I hope wecan make it there next year!

Excellent stay!
This is our second year staying with this property owner /location. This cabin is phenomenal! It is close to Munising, the river location makes kayaking during our stay so easy, and we had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our week. Highly recommend and will stay again!

Au Train Da Loft Cottage
Property was located next to Au Train River. The cottage had everything we needed. It is an open plan so you can hear others in the house but it worked out just fine with our group. Good price and It was close enough to everything we wanted to do without having to stay right in Munising. We did have an issue with the air conditioner turning on and off but worked with the property owner to get this fixed quickly. We all said we would stay in this cottage again should we come back to this area.

Worst place ever stayed at
Electric wiring was ?? No smoke alarm! No internet!,water had foul oder! Only door to enter cabin sometime locked on ya or wouldn't latch!Boiled water but still had sediment. No TV. Owener Cory didnt do NOTHING. Vrbo didnt do NOTHING. I spent hours on phone with Vrbo. Put on hold , transferred, pit on hold, transferred. Vrbo has a routeen after that you get disconnected. CSR are all from India.. Promised to move us to a different cabin never got tthere. We stayed 11 days. Cory ower was rude and accused me of wantung money refunded , never offered to fix anything but we do know he had been around the premises. I will never have vrbo book me anything again. One more boat was not in working order. Supposed to have free kayak rental never got it. Pictures of rental property is misleading. Out boat in photo did not look like the one we had lol Little house in photo is not use able. Doorknob to front door was held together by a carter pin. I think that maybe all. I have picture wish I could share. This revenue will probably be deleted

This cottage was definitely more of a rustic/camping feel. Management was very attentive when we needed something. Price was misquoted at time of booking but we were compensated with free Kayak rentals. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful view of the river.

This cabin was really cute and rustic and the view out the front was great with the river right there. Just don't expect a lot of privacy with the neighbors close by and a lot of action on the river. Close to most of the fun the UP offers.

U P Discovery
Great property right on the river. The location was perfect for visiting Marquette and Pictured Rocks. The property could have used more fire pits as the two shared fire pits on the premises were always taken even though only half the cottages were occupied. Would consider again for our next trip to the UP.

Amazing Stay at Da Loft
Da Loft was exactly what our family of 6 needed! Everyone had plenty of room to sleep and the common area was perfect for watching movies or just to catch up at the end of the day. It is a very old cabin but that is what gave it it's charm. We rented kayaks from Da Yak Shak and it was great having them available during our stay. My son loved fishing in the river! The area is beautiful and it is about a 10-15 minute drive into Munising. We hope to visit Au Train again and stay in Da Loft!

The property was nice but communication with my contract Corey was pretty much non existent... When I booked the cabin he asked me who I was traveling with and what we liked to do so he could give us some ideas and points of local interest... He never responded... He said the WiFi password was in the cabin and it was no where to be found... The management company only communicated through texting even though I asked to speak to someone on the phone or in person... The heat went out in the middle of the night and they sent over 2 space heaters... Very dissapointing...

Riverside Condominiums? Not Hardly!
This property was much older and more run-down that the description and the pictures indicate. We were expecting a quaint cottage on a river and entered a fish camp cabin - complete with live-in rodent. Within an hour after our arrival, a mouse ran across the kitchen floor. The owner promised to bring mouse traps the next day - never happened! The water in the 2nd shower can not be adjusted from scalding hot. The cabin is listing as having “heat”, however the portable electric heater in one of the bedrooms does not work. So you are left with one other portable heater and a small wall mounted electric heater that rattled and was not enough to heat the cabin in cold weather. We are seasoned travelers and have stayed in everything from primitive cabins in the Rockies to 5 star hotels in NYC. We are not picky, just expect things to be as advertised.

Loved the view
I enjoyed sitting out by the water and enjoying the sights. It’s close to all the activities we wanted to do, such as hiking and visiting waterfalls and only 10 minutes from Munising. I wish the place would have had a mop, or swifter for the floor to clean, for long stays that would be nice. Plus the kitchen could have been better stacked with necessities, only one fork in the drawer. Better pots and pans too, but everything else was great! Loved having two bathroom, so convenient! Neighbors were all friendly. The owner is super nice. If he sees this review maybe he will get those few things to make this a great place to stay!

Nothing fancy but a great location and very roomy. We had 5 adults and two dogs and had plenty of room. We always travel with the dogs and this property fit our needs perfectly. The WIFI was a little spotty at times but the kids could use some time away from the screens anyway. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Great time!
We spent Thabksgiving & the following weekend and it was awesome! The cottage is quaint, clean, & exactly what we needed. Wi-fi was touch & go, but expected considering our location (just don't plan on kids getting homwork done), this wasn't a draw back by far, just plan for other things to do, like exploring! Cory was great, and we would for sure rent again! Thanks!

No refund
Paid for two nights of NOT staying there. Owner would not refund. Was not told how to access unit. Upon arrival, the office was dark, there was no one there or at any of the units there. Further, there was no cellular service to contact anyone. I did arrive there and would have stayed had I been instructed how to access. We were forced to find accommodations elsewhere for night. The next day, I contacted the owner telling him this and requested a refund since we had to find somewhere else to stay. Owner claims that had he known we wouldn’t have been there that he could’ve rented it to someone else. Well, it appeared to me that he could’ve rented out another one of the cottages if there would have been another party that needed a place to stay since NONE of the other cabins had anyone in them. No worries though, because we had to pay for it anyway. Yes there is a cancellation policy of 60 days prior in online rental agreement. So, if you sign up to stay there sooner than sixty days and need to cancel for some reason—tough luck! I did arrive and would’ve stayed if I had access. I am a reasonable person and if I had seen that the Au Train River Cottages were packed and that we caused him a loss of revenue then I wouldn’t have even asked for a refund but, clearly, that was not the case. Cancellation policy or not, what about doing the right thing? Having someone pay you for NOT using your property is just ripping them off.

We had a wonderful time. We arrived and the heat was on for us already. Every thing was clean and Cory was very helpful and provided us with a DVD player when the weather would not cooperate for internet service. Over all was a great time spent with friends. Would defiantly stay again.

Great location, clean place to stay for Pictured Rocks
Our group loved staying here. Great location for Pictured Rocks, we loved the rusticness of this cabin and also was worth driving to Marquette(40 min) for some great meals. It was easy to check in and out and the location of this was nice too. Right on a river and very calm, quiet spot. Would definitely stay here again if in the U.P.!

Nice, comfortable cabin!
Very cute cabin with all you need to have a comfortable stay. Beautiful, quiet location within minutes of Lake Superior and a short drive to Munising. Go the other way a couple of miles to Forest Lake and hook into some nice Smallmouth! We had a great visit and we'll be back!

Cozy cabin within small community
A wonderful place to stay just outside of Munising. We didn't take advantage of all the ammenities but still had a great time. Inside is all that you need for a nice stay, kitchen plenty big, bedrooms nice and cozy, nice living room area. Surprised at how hot the water gets, but water has a slight metallic smell. You only really notice it in the shower. Fire pit is shared within the community but this did not prevent us from starting and enjoying our own fires. Cory seems very low key, you could probably get by your whole visit without contacting him and just worry about yourselves. He has it setup so that you can be entirely self-sufficient if you want to be. If you plan on visiting Pictured rocks, it's about a 15 minute ride to Munising. We made several trips to Munising between touristy things and grocery trips, so we burned through a lot of mileage. If I knew how much driving we would do, I may have looked at places closer to Munising, all other things not being considered. If you plan on staying in the Au Train area, doing some kayaking (can be rented through the owners business) and lazing about, then this would be a perfect location.

Great Cabin and Host
The cabin was clean and cozy. The porch looks right at the river not far away. Nice grill for cooking out and really comfortable beds! Cable and wifi was an unexpected touch. Cory was very helpful and very friendly. Top notch!
