Wrongly accused of having a pet in hotel room, attempting to charge me $30. Perhaps cleaning staff did not appreciate their tip$. My dogs were boarded in Ferndale Michigan- I can prove it with that billing.

The location is great - right on Lake Huron 2 minutes from downtown and the bridge The curb appeal needs help - they allow dogs and that’s a priority for us pet parents Overall the staff was nice and helpful when needed

Room was big but beds pretty tight by the wall. Location was great. Bathroom needed work: door was binding, floor felt like it was giving way, bad dark spot by tub floor, not sure if black mold but it wasn’t good. Tv/internet was down but it was down all over the night we stayed. Nice to have coffee maker in the room. Bed was comfy, it was quiet (Weds. Eve). Staff let us stay parked there while we went to Mackinac Island. We would stay again.

⭐ 1 Star — Absolutely Terrible Experience I have never encountered front-desk staff this rude and unhelpful at any hotel. We booked 5 rooms for 2 nights under two separate reservations, and instead of making reasonable arrangements for our group, the front desk created a complete mess. There was clearly no effort to accommodate us or even provide basic customer service. And the amenities? No coffee in the rooms. No microwaves. Fine—those things may not be standard everywhere. But what really took the cake was the ridiculous coffee situation. One of our group members went to the front desk for a cup of coffee after 1 PM, and the staff bluntly told him that coffee is only available from 6 AM to 1 PM. Seriously? There was literally coffee sitting there after 1 PM, but apparently guests are not allowed to have it. I have stayed in hotels all over and have never heard of a policy this bizarre. The lack of amenities is one thing, but the attitude of the front-desk staff was the real problem. Hospitality means treating paying guests with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was completely missing here. For a group booking five rooms for two nights, we expected a decent level of service. Instead, we got poor arrangements, ridiculous policies, and rude staff. Save yourself the frustration and stay somewhere else. Definitely a 1-star experience.
