Family Ski Trip to Granite Peak
My family stayed here while skiing over at Granite Peak. We had a great time and this place was perfect. Communication between the property manager and myself was top notch. I loved the creek behind property.

Perfect Relaxing Getaway
My family loved this little vacation. The kids played outside all day and we were even able to bring our family dog to splash around in the river with us! It was a perfect way to relax before school starting again. My family is already asking me to book it again next summer. Host couldn't have been more accommodating. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Peaceful cabin on the river
This cabin is exactly what we were looking for for a short family getaway. It was cozy, peaceful and away from it all. The river is full of trout and the yard full of wildlife. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and the stand alone screened-in porch was a fun addition for working puzzles and eating dinner without the pesky mosquitoes bothering us. Jeanette was extremely helpful and responsive. It’s a great place to stay!

Cozy cabin in the north
Such a lovely place. Peace and quiet; perfect for a weekend getaway from the city. Cabin is equipped with everything needed, bird and wildlife watching from the living room window included. Close by are hiking and skiing opportunities. Communication with Jeanette was easy from the get go. Thanks a lot for letting us enjoy this cozy cabin.

Tranquil
Where do I begin! Our family had such an amazing time. Absolutely beautiful place. It was my husband and I, and our two children, 7 and 9 years old. My favorite part was waking up early, sitting outside and listening to all the sounds, especially the birds. The wildlife is incredible. So tranquil. We made our dinners on the campfire and ate in the enclosed outdoor space, it was so much fun. We fished, explored the property, kids even floated on rafts. We also went to a nearby ice cream shop. The cabin was immaculate, and don’t worry about forgetting anything, because they have anything you could ever need right there. I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve slept all through the night in years! From the beds, to the home, to the outdoor space, it was very comfortable. Thank you so much for sharing your family home with not just us, but with everyone. We had the best time.

Obviously someone’s well-loved home. We felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived.
We have stayed in many VRBO properties. Most extremely modern beach homes. This property in the woods is very cozy and secluded. Saw 5 species of woodpecker, river otter, squirrels (including a rare black one), countless deer. Can see the trout when standing on the footbridge over the river. The house was very clean and had many personal items tucked in all over. We came in October and used the fire pit, inside fireplace, and gas grill. The owners leave clear instructions on check in and out. Will definitely try to rent this place again!

Amazing cabin on productive trout stream
AMAZING home on private land, BEAUTIFUL trout stream in back yard. We caught Brook Trout, and walked up the stream for beautiful views and more fishing. Owners must be craftsman because the home and all the landscaping is five star quality. This is the best property to rent in central WI ...I've rented 50 VRBO's in the state, nothing comes close. Food for pick up is 5 miles away. Jeannette is so accommodating with everything, but we didn't need anything :)

Relaxing Getaway
Ery charming, cozy and well kept property. Our family of 5 stayed here with plenty of space for everyone. All of us enjoyed the quiet and amazing view of the river. The bird watching was absolutely amazing.

Sooooo Relaxing!!!!
Was going on a ski trip with a bunch of friends and I was the the first one there, when I walked in the door, I fell in love with place!! Jeanette was sooo nice and sooo helpful and welcoming. I was able to bring my dog up with us and there was a food and water bowl with some treats ready and waiting for me. The cabin was nice and cozy, and able so accommodate all 7 of the people that went. Great surrounding area, and just an over all place to get away and relax for a 3 day weekend. Will definitely be going back there again.

A perfect peaceful place!
My two small children traveled to Jeanettes property for three days to go skiing in Wausau. The house is pristine, The 40 acres of woods to enjoy, and explore was ideal for this busy mom and kids who were all needing a break. Jeanette was super responsive, one of my favorite places yet. We will definitely be back in warmer weather to explore those walking trails. Thank you for the recharge!

We had a great experience staying at the cabin. Jeanette is a vary attentive host and easy to communicate with. The surrounding snow covered woods and river made it for a picture perfect setting. Highly recommend it to travelers visiting the Wausau area.

My family and I took a mini ski vacation and stayed 3 nights. It’s a great house/cabin that offers tons of wildlife. The hosts were very accommodating and they had everything set-up and ready. My kids loved it and it was a great getaway. We’ll be back. Thank you!

Spectacular!
I would like to sum this property up in one word , spectacular ! Unfortunately that won't do it justice. The family that owns this property is so blessed , it is beyond beautiful ! Like it says, your on 40 acres with a stream about 40 feet from the cabin . You don't have to worry about neighbors or anything. If you want a bonfire the young man (Max) who lives close by will deliver wood to you ( for a small fee). There are many lakes near by if you are into fishing, along with county parks, Dells of eau clare is spectacular! Also, state park Rib mountain is fantastic! I just cant say enough about this place and the fact that the family who owns it it willing to share it is so generous. Thank you so very much for a truly wonderful vacation and memories ill never forget.

Relaxing Getaway
The cabin is so cute and cozy! Just laying back and sitting around exploring the beautiful property. The bird feeders were amazing! So many beautiful birds! Eagles flying over such an amazing place! Fishing in the plover river, not many trout but lots of creek chubs which give a good fight. The kids loved being in the wilderness catching crayfish and frogs, swimming and exploring. The best part of it was the joy on my dogs face just pure happiness swimming and laying around the camp fire listing to the flowing waters and pure relaxing quiet and beautiful stars at night! We will be back! The owners were so thoughtful and kind made us feel like family!

Quiet, Secluded, and Cozy
Our family of five really enjoyed our four nights at this cottage. There was fishing and frog/toad catching, family games, and a much-needed digital detox in the woods. As others have mentioned, the bird watching is impressive. Tons of woodpeckers, kingfishers, and more hummingbirds than I've seen anywhere else in my life (including the Caribbean). The bugs were not bad at all in early August, which was surprising given the stream and recent rainy weather. Perfect spot for a peaceful getaway.

So beautiful and relaxing!!
So many things to do just on the property alone! Fishing, hiking, swimming, kayaking (brought our own), craw fishing, playing games inside and out, bird watching (bald eagles!!) and sitting around the fire! Love that there is no wifi so my teens had to figure out life with no phone lol. The house has everything you need - we fit 4 adults and 4 teenagers and never felt cramped (but our families always travel together so we’re use to it).The home is so sturdy and clean - beds are on the harder side but thats what we like. We would totally stay here again and maybe longer next time!

Wonderful weekend away
This property is beautiful and is perfect for watching nature, long walks on country roads, and hiking on nearby trails. The property was clean and comfortable. The hosts were spectacular and treated you as if you were guests in their home. The cottage was well-appointed and had everything you could ever anticipate needing. We Will definitely be back (and soon).

Exactly as described. Clean, cozy, perfect for our family of 5. Kids weren't jazzed about the lack of wifi but the adults were. Explored the property, fished, bird watched, read by the fire. Close access to Ice Age Trail too.

Relaxing getaway
I chose this place because I loved the river view and the ability to be able to explore the 40 acre property. The cabin was very cozy. The 6 of us were very comfortable. I don't think it would have been as comfortable with 8 adults. The welcome note and snacks were very nice. We had everything we needed there and we really enjoyed ourselves. I think it would be even better in the spring or summer when we could really take advantage of the river. Just lovely!

A beautiful little getaway
The accommodations were very comfortable and clean, the location is scenic and private. The price was very good for such lovely accommodations including grill, fire pit, fireplace, and screened in gazebo in the woods. Set right next to quiet plover river and with a surprising number of wildlife to see right from the cabin windows. Our family loved this place and we think you will too.

The place wasn’t clean
Place wasn’t clean at all. Also didn’t have any measures in regards to COVID-19. Felt very uncomfortable staying in a place that wasn’t clean. We even had to clean a little to make our staying more enjoyable.

Early summer vacation
Our family stayed for 5 days, and we were in love with this place! We were looking for a place that was away from other people, in nature, on water, but near to good food and groceries. This place met all of that! We did curbside pick up for groceries at pick n save about 15 minutes away, stopped for flotations and hammocks at dunhams in wausau, got bakery from Linda's, and beer growlers (great selection!) from Sconnies. That was it for our city and town ventures (was pleased that most people used masks in stores for covid protection). We went to the Eau Claire Dells park, and walked the ice age trail, but most of the time we read and relaxed in the cottage and in the plover River. We brought kayaks along and my teenage daughters and I loved working our way up the river. We had to work our way around downed trees which was a unique challenge for us, and very very worth it. We kayaked up stream for an hour and saw only one other house! It was the most beautiful river. We had an eagle land right near us. On our walk in the ice age trail we say a porcupine close up and watched it climb a tree. We saw more deer than we could count, and a young bear cub walked right through the property while we were sitting in the bridge! And the bird watching was the best! We loved the screened in out house for games, watched several movies in the comfy living room, and prepared great food in their well stocked kitchen. Best weather and a very amazing vacation!

Pure relaxation!!
We booked this place to house 8 people for a weekend ski trip and I feel like we found the needle in the hay stack. The house was very clean and fresh feeling. I can’t tell you how relaxing it was to just sit and look out the back window and watch the water flow down the river and the squirrels running everywhere. The variety of birds that also enjoy the bird feeders was amazing. I wish we got to spend more time relaxing here. I would love to stay at this place for a week in the summer and just kick back. The house was perfect for us and we plan on staying here again on our next group ski trip. It was so nice having a washer and dryer as well. You really can’t go wrong staying here.

Slice of Heaven
We rented this cottage over the holidays for a family ski trip, and it was absolutely beautiful. The owners are wonderful and kind, and the views spectacular. We drove up to Blackjack Ski Hill in MI which was only a 2-hour drive for great skiing. We snowshoed/hiked around the property another day, and our final day we enjoyed Granite Peak and the charming downtown Wausau area. Snowball fights, snowman-building, snow forts, and memories were enjoyed/made. The cottage itself has everything you need for a wonderful get-away. Getting up in the morning to build a fire and enjoy the view and birds while sipping coffee was so relaxing. Thank you for a truly spectacular holiday. We are definitely renting this again as a family some summer/fall!
