Excellent stay
The location on a bluff overlooking the water was superb. The cottage was clean and well-equipped. The caretakers were friendly and helpful in any situation. The owner checked in on us many times during our time there. The stars on a clear night were amazing. I plan to stay there again in the future.

Another Great Stay
Our fourth year here and it does not disappoint! Beach is beautiful and and easy access to day trips to PEI or Cape Breton is the weather is not cooperating. Jacqueline had the place spotless for our arrival and JB the caretaker and his life partner Kate are true gems! Highly recommend this location!

Séjour de ressourcement
Nous avons passé deux semaines à profiter du site au pie de la mer: marches sur la plage, contemplation et jeux sur le terrain. La plage de Melmerby, à 10 minutes d’auto est magnifique. New Glasgow, tout près, offre tous les services nécessaires. Le chalet est grand, confirtable et bien équipé. On s’y sent chez soi! La décoration présente de multiples objets dont on imagine l’histoire. Malgré la proximité des voisines, le respect et le clame règnent dans le voisinage. Nous espérons y séjourner à nouveau dans les prochaines années.

So relaxing
Stunning views both sunrise and sunset and everywhere in between. The cottage was completely functional, had great breeze off the water and cozy. We had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Initially we booked for one week and jumped at the chance for the second week! 14 days was not enough time to relax and unwind and take in the breeze off the water! Wonderful spot!

Experience
It was extremely clean and well-kept. The view was absolutely beautiful morning and night. We enjoyed it so much we often to stay for a second week. Despite how warm the weather was, there was a beautiful breeze most days. Beach was completely quiet every day and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Second time was as good as the first!
This was a return visit and like the first time, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at " Beach Front Cottage". We have family in the area so the location was perfect for visiting and catching up. From the front window you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch early in the morning, enjoy visits from the local deer population, or just watch the water coming into shore, the view is spectacular. The cottage is well supplied with everything you will need. Arrive, unpack, sit back and enjoy!

An Unforgettable Holiday at Black Point
Dickens wrote ‘It was the best of times, it was the worst of times’. Storm Fiona hit Black Point hard and yet we had a most memorable holiday; in fact we extended our stay by five days. In the face of adversity, the people of Nova Scotia opened up their hearts and helped each other in every possible way. We were privileged to be a part of all that went on. In spite of Fiona, clearly Black Point is a wonderful place to spend a quiet, relaxing holiday. The cottage kitchen is equipped with every utensil known to man, and there is plenty of room for lying around reading, playing games, or simply sitting and looking out to sea. A perfect place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. The host and property managers were really attentive and thoughtful, fresh flowers on the dining table, freshly baked muffins and scones…. What more could you need! Black Point has a very interesting history, some cottages are 100-plus years old and remain family owned. It is a close, caring community, and we met some very friendly and interesting people. It is also perfectly positioned to explore Nova Scotia, East, West or South. We will be recommending this property to friends and family as a perfect get-away.

Home Away From Home....I Wish..
We have always dreamed of waking up, and falling asleep for that matter, to the sounds of ocean waves crashing on the shore. We were not disappointed during our stay in this comfy nostalgic cottage. Everything described on VRBO for listing is genuine. Our host, Bill, was extremely attentive to our stay, even reimbursing us for a overpayment we didn't know we made. Our neighbors BJ and his wife were welcoming and helpful to every question we had. We live in the Boston area and decided to take the long way "Road Trip" version. It's not for the faint of heart to travel 11 hours. Staying at a hotel at a halfway point is recommended. Cannot say enough about the beauty and cleanliness of Nova Scotia. Every local we had conversations with were extremely friendly and informative. The cottage is lovely and charming in a "coming home to grandma" way. The kitchen has all the amenities you would expect and there were plenty of extra beddings and towels, etc; available for our use. The WiFi was strong and the Cable TV gave us no issues when we found the need to watch it. I would recommend a few good books and a couple of bottles of wine. Otherwise, just walking out the back door a few yards to enjoy the amazing Atlantic coast was all we needed. Thank you Bill!

Another Fantastic Vacation!
This was our fourth year in a row staying at the cottage and it seems to get better every year. We had an absolutely wonderful time and were not disappointed in any way. The place is well kept with everything you might need including a fantastic view of the water. Spent a lot of time on the beach in front of the cottage as well as a number of days we went to Melmerby beach…best beach in NS in my opinion! Mostly we just took it easy and enjoyed the tranquility of the location… very relaxing and rejuvenating! Luna, our dog probably likes the place the best…she gets so excited when she realizes where we are it’s priceless to see! She loves swimming in the ocean more than anything. The owner Bill always calls and checks to make sure everything is going well and BJ and Cathie are the nicest property managers you could hope to have. We miss the place already and will definitely be going back next year!

Million Dollar View
View was awesome and weather perfect. Cottage was well appointed and offered quiet surroundings. Day of arrival was very warm and the breeze from the windows as the temperature dropped with increased winds. The rest of our stay was filled with sunshine, walks on the beach and exploring other areas including New Glasgow, Pictou and other spots. The beaches in the area were very easy to find and lots of nice walking areas too! Great place to take a deep breath and relax. It was nice that there were caretakes in the near vicinity and the owner communicated with us too. The new pavement on the Little Harbour Road between the cottage area and New Glasgow makes driving time very short as well. Thanks for a pleasant and wonderful cottage stay.

Great location on Northumberland Strait
Very comfortable 3 bedroom cottage situated on the Northumberland Strait. Ideal spot for a quite holiday in rural Nova. Scotia but within a easy drive to Truro or Halifax. Cottage has all the necessary amenities for an enjoyable holiday and the owner and property manager we’re quick to respond to any problems that arose. Would definitely book again.

Probably the best experience since a long time.
The cottage kept the soul of the family who was living there. And the neighbors became friends so we could walk all along the proprieties as if we were from the family. Like a clan. In front of the long beach. With the waves banging on the rocks. A unique place on the coast of Pictou. We shall go again.

Family Vacation
We had a wonderful week at this property at the end of August. The property is spacious and easily accommodated all of us. The view from the property is spectacular and the neighbours are friendly and welcoming. The property manager and his family are also very welcoming and responsive to any questions we had. Another Perfect Vacation!
This was our third year in a row and we stayed for the first 2 weeks of August. As before, it was another perfect vacation and we wouldn't have asked for anything to be different. The cottage has absolutely everything we needed and then some. The weather cooperated once again and was great the whole time we were there. We spent the days walking on the beach and collecting interesting rocks, beach glass and driftwood. Our dog, Luna, loves the place just as much as us I think…she spent a great deal of time swimming in the water in front of the cottage whenever she could. We also spent some time at Melmerby beach (fantastic beach) with the nice weather. I loved sitting in the screen room and reading in the late afternoon. We especially loved sitting out front in the evening and taking in the sounds of the shoreline of the Northumberland Strait…so soothing for the soul. Everything else was great. WIFI worked very well. Bill, the owner, checked in on us several times to make sure everything was going well. Cathie and BJ, property managers, are especially very nice people and are very attentive to make sure everything was going okay. I could go on and on about this wonderful place that we now consider our second home. We will be definitely be back next year and are already looking forward to it and making our plans! Thanks for everything!

Great stay
Great stay. Had everything a person would ever need. You could literally arrive from the airport with nothing but your clothes and a few groceries. The cottage was very spacious. Beach was beautiful but a bit rocky in front of the cottage. There were nice sandy areas close by.

Large comfortable cottage overlooking the Northumberland Strait.
Within 15 kms of New Glasgow, this cottage has everything ! Great water views and beach , friendly neighbours, and a quiet location, it worked perfectly as a gathering place for our family from the Valley, Fredericton and locally. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked, lots of windows and lovely decor. The weather wasn't always great, but catching up with one another, board games, reading, napping, and exploring the beach seemed to satisfy. We would happily book again.

A little piece of heaven on the Northumberland Strait
I had to isolate for 14 days upon my return to Canada and I could not have chosen a more perfect place to do it! This cottage has everything I needed and the view over the Northumberland Strait is stunning . I would get up early to enjoy the sunrise. The area is so peaceful and quiet. It was just me this time but the house is very spacious with three bedrooms so great for a family The kitchen is very well equipped. WiFi works very well. A cozy sun porch overlooking the water . And a sunny deck on the back of the house. Bill, the owner, was quick to answer all my questions prior to check in and checked in with me during my stay. A perfect host!! I plan to return with my family next year so I can explore the area. I can't recommend this wonderful cottage enough. Thank you Bill. I'll be back!!

What a great experience. Dealing with Bill was so easy. The cottage was just as advertised and more! Easily the best stocked place we have ever rented on VRBO. The kitchen lacked nothing for nothing! The property manager and his family were right next door and were so hospitable! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic Vacation
What can I say…we consider this to be our new home away from home only better because it is right on the beautiful Northumberland Strait and everything else about the location. This is the second year in a row that we’ve stayed at this cottage and it certainly won’t be the last. We had an absolutely fantastic vacation, and once again, we were not disappointed with anything at all. Terrific weather the whole time and we spent a lot of time on the beach in front of the cottage walking, collecting interesting rocks and just generally enjoying the calming waters of the Northumberland Strait. The water this time of year is so calm and nice and warm so I spent a few afternoons at nearby Melmerby beach too. Even though it was a very warm period, the breezes in the evening cooled things off quite nicely for sleeping. Everything was as advertised. The WIFI was incredibly good with no interruptions whatsoever. The beds were fantastic and the main bed has the perfect mattress for my wife as she has a very bad back which made things so much enjoyable for her. Lots of towels, dishes and absolutely everything you need is right there which makes things so much easier when you go on vacation. The owner kept us informed of anything he thought we should know and even called to check in with us when we got there just to make sure everything was okay. The property managers were great, very approachable and checked in several times also to make sure there was nothing that we needed. They even offered interesting tidbits about the local area that would make our stay more enjoyable. One of my favorite spots was the screened room with a view of the water…absolutely priceless! We just chilled, looking out over the water, watching the Gannets diving for fish…very cool! My wife even caught a glimpse of a whale while scanning the water through the binoculars! We generally ate at the bay window overlooking the Strait...so relaxing. Overall we found that this was the perfect location to decompress and get away from it all. The property is nice and spacious with lots of room to throw the ball around for the dog. But her favorite thing was taking 3 swims a day though while I threw the ball in the water for her…she may have had the best time of all I do believe. Overall, we have no complaints and only good things to say. We just want to say thank you for an absolutely great nine days! This made our entire year!

Spectacular and Relaxing Vacation
Our cottage rental and stay in this area far surpassed our expectations!! The cottage was so spacious and perfect for our family and came fully equipped. We had access to a beautiful warm and sandy beach. The views of the Northumberland were spectacular and our favourite place was sitting in the enclosed sun porch watching the ocean and the sunrises/sunsets!! It was the perfect spot to relax and spend time as a family. The community was very friendly as well and made you feel right at home. Can’t wait to return😊

Fantastic Vacation-absolutely spectacular time!
What an amazing vacation! This is the perfect place to escape to for some rest and relaxation. The view of the ocean is stunning, with gorgeous sunsets, and made for some beautiful evening walks with the dogs. The cottage met all of our needs and then some! The sunroom was probably our favourite spot, we spent most of our time there. Such a great place to curl up and read, or to watch the sunset. The front deck was a great place to have morning coffee and the breeze coming off the ocean keeps you nice and cool, the large windows allow for it to move throughout. The cottage is beautiful inside, particularly the large stone fireplace with the cathedral ceiling and the old wood floors. It has all the comforts of home such as wifi, tv, washer/dryer while still maintaining the “cottage feeling” within. There is a lot of space for families, indoor and out, Lots of green space as well as having the beach so close. The kitchen is Well equipped with everything you would ever need, plenty of dishes and silverware. The cottage was very clean, tidy, and well maintained. Fully stocked with linens, towels, bedding. The cottage had such a warm and welcoming feel, I felt like I was staying at a family member’s home. I had to keep reminding myself of this, and it brought back memories of my childhood at our family cottage. The property managers were lovely, and we were greeted and welcomed upon arrival. The surrounding neighbours were very friendly, always a “hi” and wave when walking by. This cottage is definitely a spot I would love to return to next summer. Everyone needs a week at the beach :) Thank You!

Outstanding !
We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was hot & sunny every day so the kids were able to enjoy the ocean and sandy beach during the day, and have smores at the beach bonfire at night. The cottage is very clean with lots of room . The covered sun porch out front was amazing !
