Fall time fun
First time on the east coast and we wanted to stay on the ocean. We found the cutest little bungalow with the best views at the Barnacle! The place was immaculate and had all the amenities. And it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas to make you feel like you were in your own little world. Although it took a small commute (30 minutes) to get to Acadia National Park it was worth the drive. The Blue Hill peninsula where the Barnacle is located is a great mixed drive through the countryside and ocean side. We saw lots of wildlife (deer, bobcat and a seal right out front!)
We had an amazing experience at the Barnacle and wished we would’ve spent more time just relaxing there! But there is so much to see and do within a hour that we wanted to fit in as much as possible! It was the perfect base camp for us to rest and soak in the beauty of the surrounding area.
Although we had a small glitch with our communication with the hosts it was remedied very quickly. They are wonderful people and truly love their property and ability to make sure you are taken care of well! I highly recommend staying there if you want a quiet getaway right on the water!
