We received no housekeeping at all during our multi-night stay at Sea Ranch Resort.
The hotel provides “Make Up Room” signs, so we placed one on the door, but nothing happened. Only after asking at the front desk were we told that housekeeping had to be requested separately and at least 24 hours in advance. This policy was not explained at check-in and was not included in our Expedia booking information.
We then requested housekeeping for the following day, and the front desk confirmed the request. Still, nobody came. We complained again, but the room was never cleaned before we left.
For a beach hotel, this was unacceptable. Sand, wet towels, and trash naturally accumulate, especially when traveling with children. We had to collect fresh towels and trash bags ourselves, while the room became increasingly unpleasant and unclean.
The hotel’s later response was also disappointing. Instead of acknowledging the missed housekeeping request, it incorrectly claimed that we had six guests and that an extra occupancy fee had been waived. We were five guests, exactly as booked.
Good location, but the lack of service and the handling of our complaint were unacceptable.
