Hi Samson,We are sorry that your experience was not as expected. All our staffed is over 21 year old, and in some cases, our staff is going through specialization or studies, as any other grown up does. In some cases we have volunteers on our team; who are travelers who aim to specialize in tourism. But they are not necessarily “students minding their business for exchange of housing”. This is qualification is biased, incomplete and unfair. Furthermore, if there was any specific issue or disappointment with your stay you can always refer not only to our staff but also to the internal messaging system. We strive to make our guests stay a pleasant want. Note, we did not receive any message via Expedia internal messaging system or through our front desk of dissatisfaction. Finally, our listing does not compromise a full front desk service, but a welcoming hosting service with breakfast and yoga deck on site, steps away from the beach and the main road.

Many thanks for your review. We were sad to hear your stay wasn't to our usual standard. I have spoken to the manager, yes he was having his lunch and busy when you came to reception, as he was securing fibre optic for wifi, which had to be done in person. Yes its our slow season and like all other hotels we are getting back on our feet since covid decimated the industry. We hope to receive you again.

We appreciate your feedback, regarding your January stay with us at Nautilus, Hongor. We are sad to hear that your time wasn't the all-out successful experience that we always provide, bear in mind all our other reviews are top notch ratings. As this was your first stay in Santa Teresa, safe covid communication here is via Whatsapp it’s our safety net and the norm for now, all our other guests are happy with this. Our front desk is open, the staff are contactable 24/7, but more virtual due to Covid, the manager advised you of this and his times, and that if you needed anything or a booking then Whatsapp was always on. Our other staff that you refer, our handyman and our housekeeper, both are lovely locals, as it’s our policy to employ Costa Ricans, it’s the charm of our location and Costa Rica after all 3.0million tourists per annum can’t be wrong. Regarding your negatives, we would never place a guest in a room if it was in such condition, we feel there is an over-exaggeration since our handy man is on-site and on-call to look after Nautilus to the highest of standards. Our Housekeeper deep cleans daily, however if you leave food out everywhere specially with an infant then very small ants will enjoy it, after all this is the tropics with 5% of the world’s flora and fauna on the doorstep? If this were brought to our attention that you were totally unsatisfied, we would have moved you to another villa, or gladly relocated you to another hotel. Covid has hit the industry hard however we know we went over and above to address your issues during your stay, we are not a commercial full board package deal location we are a wellness adventure location! Our front gate is an automatic close on a very strong spring mechanism and key code entry, so we are not clear on this issue and it was never raised with the manager. From our staff’s point of view, they notified us of a rude and disrespectful guest? We were contacted by Expedia and as per the cancellation policy you were outside the refund window, more so since you took full advantage of the stay back from 6th Jan, and the benefit of the hotel’s facilities and location, yet only now you send this review?

Dear Richard, thank you for your 10 out of 10 rating, i trust the OTA has honoured itself and refunded you? Many thanks for your email acknowledging that we were right in the first instance all a long, and completely exonerated us as we did not and do not hold guest money when a booking is made through OTA. Since Covid started OTA have been holding guest money and not refunding, stifling the poor hotels struggling to survive we are one such business with local employees were are keeping looked after during the situation. So you can see where and who has the right ethics.....the hotels, not OTAs......

Many thanks for your positive review. Sorry about the WiFi i will look into it. We did upgrade not so long ago, however when we get the odd rain shower, sometimes it can disturb the network locally, but it soon rectifies itself. Hope to get the opportunity to host you again.

Tack för din konstruktionsgranskning och poäng. Vi tillhandahåller inte transport eftersom taxibilarna är supereffektiva, plus de flesta gäster som du kan se har en egen bil eller en fyrhjuling. Noterade vid poolen men gästerna har bett oss att hålla det svalt eftersom det är mycket varmt i Santa Teresa. Hoppas vi ses snart
