“Comfortable stay in room with sea view and small balcony - standing room only. Rooms are only serviced every third day, but supplies could be got from reception. Staff very friendly and helpful”

“The Empress is in a great location. The bus stop from the airport is extremely close (4). This id ideal for exploring the whole island. Staff were very friendly, we dropped off luggage prior to check in. The hotel seems to have recarpeted throughout and underlay very comfortable. Room was a Triple as we travelled as a family of 3 Adults. 3rd bed was a proper single not a pull out. Room was quiet, extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast was faultless. We ate on 2 occaisions in the Piano……

“Hotel was being worked on(which was fine). Our room looked into a service area which was quite a mess and could be cleaned up a bit. Rooms could be serviced towels changed, bins emptied, tea coffee replenished more frequently Everything else was good. Breakfast excellent. Rooms clean and large. Food in restaurant s also very good.”

“Hotel is quite expensive for what you get. Bathroom needs an upgrade water all over floor when showering and very dark with insufficient lighting and very few places to put your stuff. Quite noisy at night quadruple glazing fitted but when closed of course no fresh air. Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast could do with kippers on the menu especially being a Manx hotel with wet fish shop close by. ”

“Warm welcome, enjoyed delicious breakfast and nice chat with owners each morning. Facilities in good condition and well maintained. Decorated intentionally making guests a home stay feel. Near bus stop and promenade, also walkable distance to main streets and dock. To nitpick, there’s creaky sound walking on the wooden floor.”

“The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. ”

“Love the location, rooms are beautiful and setting is idyllic. The only thing I could say is you have a designated bathroom for each room and our bathroom kept being used by other people staying in the property. Men who don’t clean up after themselves! The room key doesn’t lock the bathroom and all the other bathrooms were being used too for bathroom and showers never a dry/clean bathroom in the morning but not all rooms were occupied so I think both the other guest were just using any tbh not a……

Great local beer. Handy cinema just across the road. Would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the Isle of Man.”
