“Beautiful building ,large room”

“Kings House is the oldest guest house in Douglas and Miriam and Robin have taken on a big project to renovate this beautiful house. They are gradually renovating the house so certain aspects have not been completed but this wouldn't put us off returning. Miriam couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was really great with good quality coffee made fresh in a cafetiere. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, and the shower good. The room was serviced each day and……

“Lovely hotel on the sea front. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Shops, restaurants, steam railway all within walking distance. The breakfast was excellent. The complimentary soft drinks and snacks were a nice touch. Room was adequate for a 1 night stay, lovely bathroom & comfortable bed. Would return again and recommend to others”

“Staff was kind and helpful. Our room was odd to get to going up the stairs then down the stairs. No A/C so windows open… except open to a bar right outside which was loud until 3am. Yikes. Wonderful location next to the promenade and shops. Good food options around too. TV was small. Bar area had broken drafts for the beer. Breakfast was so/so but they would make you eggs however you’d like fresh, so that was nice.”

“Generally a good hotel and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good. Our family room looked very tired. In particular, the carpet, net curtains and bathroom sink need to be replaced and modernised.”

“I honestly cannot rate this hotel high enough, the rooms were absolutely spotless, the breakfasts were amazing and the staff. Well every single member of staff were pleasant, polite, courteous and helpful. The aircon was heaven sent in the heatwave, I had amazing sleep every night yet my brother in law in a budget hotel was tormented with heat. I will without a doubt stay there again and wont even contemplate looking at other hotels.”

“The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. ”

“The opel express was very clean and the breakfast very good with plenty of choice the room had excellent amenities provided ,with a kettle in room and tea coffee and water topped up daily, only saw staff at breakfast and checkout, it was self check in with key to room left in a safe, the room did have a ceiling fan which was very noisy and could only use with the light on, I was there during a very hot period so not much comfort throughout the night, the view from the room was not good looking……

“We had a two night stay at the Welbeck Hotel. Whilst the decor in the room appeared dated, it was very clean and bathrooms appeared to have been recently renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.”

“This place is hidden gem. Loved it so much we stayed another night. Close enough to the electric railway to give you easy access to the island.. There is NOT a lot going on in Laxey, but that exactly what we were looking for. if you just want to relax and get away. The shore hotel is a great spot”
