Lovely space in a lovely place
This home was exactly what we needed and what was advertised - two bedrooms (one with a bunk bed), a pull out couch, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living space. I don't have any major complaints. There was plenty of toilet paper and bath towels, the shower water was warm and had good pressure, everything was clean, and I'm impressed there tissues in every room! The property was beautiful and was a decent distance from Mesa Verde, Canyonlands of the Ancients, a mountain bike trail, and a couple of small towns. It was easy communicating with the owners too.

Great Place to Stay if Visiting Mesa Vere NP
We had a great stay Lori met us when we checked in. Location is in Dolores but close to Cortez. About 15 minute's from Mesa Verde NP. Each room has a separate air/heater unit. Deer come in the yard in the evening. Had great conversations with Lori, Would stay here again.

We Keep Coming Back
We love staying at this home near Cortez when we regularly visit family living in the area. The home is perfect for our needs and allows us to bring our dogs, which is an extra bonus. It is conveniently located to Cortez, but still in the country with beautiful scenery and wildlife. Lori and Tim are excellent hosts and we appreciate their friendliness.

Cozy and Private
I loved the layout of the rental. The main rooms had large windows with beautiful views. The host was welcoming and helpful. The location was not too far from Mesa Verde. We did see some pet hair and cobwebs around the rental.

Sanctuary with a view
This home is on the crest of a ridge with a fantastic view of the Cortez valley and mountains in the distance. Deer meander through the yard pruning the trees and shrubs. The house is clean and comfortable. Lori is a generous host.

Country fun
We love this place! Out in the country but close enough to everything. Traveling with dogs can be challenging and ours enjoyed the grassy yard and all the fascinating wildlife smells. The space is compact but never felt crowded. Nice open floor plan in the kitchen/dining/living area. The hosts are super nice, accommodating and responsive. It couldn’t have gone better!

Good value
Good value for the price. Fairly private area. Not much to do on the property but we just used the rental as a place for meals and a bed anyway. Property manager was kind and greeted us on arrival and said goodbye as we were leaving. Fairly close to Canyons of the Ancients visitor center and Mesa Verde

The location was ideal for visiting the different sites around the area. The rural location and the animals that came around as a result were very enjoyable. Only 6 miles from Cortez. Everything was very laid back, and Tim and Lori were very easy to work with and gave us our space to enjoy our stay. If we need to stay in the area again, we would definitely try to rent this home a second time..

This is a perfect place to get you to Mesa Verde, Canyon of the Ancients, Telluride, or Durango, Co. Cortez just a few miles away has several great places to eat and a Walmart for your every day needs. It was a great quiet place to stay with everything we needed.

Nice, comfy house in the countryside about 1/2 hour from Mesa Verde NP.
The hosts were friendly and helpful when we arrived. The house is well appointed, and comfortably fit 6 of us for a three night stay. We highly recommend hosts Lauri and Tim and their VRBO property.

Beautiful location
We loved the location of this house. Every morning we saw herds of deer in the yard, listened to the horses whinneying, and enjoyed beautiful sunsets in the evenings.

The second time around
This rental property is an absolute winner!! You won’t be disappointed. We stayed here in 2019 and were eager to come back, which we did, bringing with us this my brother, a painter, who did 5 paintings in a week. That means there is lots and lots of beautiful scenery around and about to inspire everyone…..not to mention the next door horses who wanted to watch. Lori and Tim’s guest cottage is a perfect rental for anyone wanting to see SW Colorado.

Quiet Country Getaway
The house did not disappoint - accurately reflected in the listing and many positive reviews. Our family enjoyed the outdoor activities in the area - kayaking at McFee Reservoir (recommend Delores Outfitters), Hovenweep National Monument, walks along the neighborhood road, eating and hanging out on the front patio/enjoying the cool air and great mountain views. Great access to Cortez, which has grocery stores and several eating options. Wanted to tour the Ute Mountain Reservation, but tours only offered Tuesday thru Saturday. Lori is very generous with her time and provided several travel/sightseeing tips. Even provided us with benchmark maps for our tour of Canyon of the Ancients/Hovenweep. Thanks, Lori!

Countryside Oasis
My family and I wanted to explore the Cortez area for a mini vacation. I picked this property because of the location, price, and seclusion. This property is an apartment in a house which concerned me at first, but then I realized that the rest of the house is garage and work space. The owners' house is on the property, just a few hundred yards away. Fortunately, my concerns for lack of privacy were unnecessary. We rarely saw anyone. We did see horses, cows, sheep, chickens, deer, goats, dogs,, cats,birds, hawks, amazing fruit trees, gorgeous landscape yard surrounded by fields, views of mountains and Mesa, fabulous sunsets, and more. My teenage girls were in heaven with all of the animal life. Lori Cooper was helpful, kind, and gracious. The location was perfect as it was in between Dolores and Cortez, hubs for outdoor activity and cultural exportation.

Great Place close to Cortez
Great Location, quiet, peaceful and nice views. Owners are very accommodating and helpful. We were there for a family reunion so we didn't get to utilize and enjoy the open spaces around the house. Sleeping Ute in the background of property.

Beautiful place and great location
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was nice and the property is beautiful. Very relaxing environment, it felt great just sitting on the patio and we saw wildlife several times (cute groundhog, several deer, etc). Pet friendly too, which was also great for us. It's centrally located for a ton of nearby activities, like day trips around Durango, Telluride, etc. Lori was very nice and helpful too, hope we can come back!

Location and Views Are Everything!
Everything was wonderful with Lori and Tim. Communication was great. The property was very clean. Let me tell you that the views are spectacular to cook or sit in the living room and see the mountains and deer wandering by. When we go back to Colorado this is definitely where we will stay....

Private sanctuary

Lots of Space for Kids!
Our young kids (ages 10, 9, 7) really enjoyed the property. The owners, who live on site, were so kind and encouraged our kids to enjoy the huge yard. Owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. As avid bird watchers, my husband and son added many birds to their life lists. Kids loved the loft beds! You'll have everything you need here. Very close to Mesa Verde, Cortez, Dolores, and Canyon of the Ancients. We also visited Natural Bridges about 2 hours away. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous country environment
My wife and I enjoyed staying here. The property is beautiful. We needed to stare at different walls during these crazy times. The owners are very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay and home was equipped
Wasn’t exactly what we were expecting but it was quiet, clean, equipped and Comfortable. Only 1 hour from Durango and about 2 from Silverton and Moab. Also about 1 1/2 from Telluride. Mesa verde National Park isn’t far at all and it’s so neat. Lori was nice and talked to our daughter who is a talker. We saw deer right in the pasture next to us during our stay and our dog was comfortable as well. She stayed in her kennel when she didn’t go with us but she went most of the time. We enjoyed our stay overall!! Cortez is also a neat lil town and there’s a Mexican restaurant there that is to die for, Mi Mexico Restaurant. Lori said she was available for anything needed. They accommodated space for our trailer. We rafted in Durango, 4 wheeled in Moab, did some trials in Silverton and the shops. Silverton is a cool lil town. Enjoy! Take care.

Great location, friendly owners and beautiful farm/vineyard setting
The house is close to Canyons of the Ancients and Mesa Verde and the city of Cortez is just 10 minutes away for groceries and great food options. The house and appliances are all clean and current. The bunk beds were a real treat for my boys!

Calming
We enjoyed our thanksgiving vacation, my children played in the snow and tried to make and igloo. Home was quite inviting and very spacious. We played board games and just enjoyed our time away from our hectic lives.

Wonderful rental near Mesa verde
We spent a wonderful 3 nights in this comfortable rental on 5 acres off a dirt road (a very quiet neighborhood). It was clean, well appointed with comfortable beds. the hosts were friendly and communication was perfect. I highly recommend!!!

A masterpiece!
Twenty-five years ago Lori and Tim began making this little piece of SW Colorado into a veritable Paradise. There are acres of perfect lawn liberally scattered with shade trees, fruit trees, and decorative trees. One of the best best parts of being here was walking our little dog from one end to the other of the beautiful property. These 35 acres enjoy some spectacular views: Sleeping Ute Mountain, Mesa Verde, and the LaPlata mountains. Next door are horses on one side and cows on the other. Deer come around morning and evening to see if any fruit has fallen where they can pick it up. The house itself is perfect. Two bedrooms, a bath, kitchen and LR & DR. However outside is a huge, perfectly lovely patio with outdoor furniture. We only met Tim as we were leaving and are sorry we didn’t get longer to visit. But Lori is a jewel!

Wonderful property, wonderful host!
The accommodations were even better than described, having everything from good wifi to a fully equipped kitchen. The views from our patio were perfect - horses in the pasture with the beautiful mountains in the background. Lori is fantastic and gifted us with delicious peaches from the tree. The location was perfect for visits to Mesa Verde, Canyons of the Ancients, Chaco Canyon, and river and RZR trips in the Bears Ears area, and a field trip to Durango and more. The beds were comfy and having a washer and dryer was great. The hot water was plentiful and the water pressure good - something we haven't always been able to count on at other VRBO locations. The sound of the wind in the trees lulled us to sleep many nights and we already miss "our" Cortez home!

Beautiful Farm Property
My brother, his wife and son, and I stayed here for two nights. We went to Canyons of the Ancients, Four Corners, and Mesa Verde on the full day we had here. Had a blast! Lori and her family were very welcoming, but not at all overbearing. The house was great for us, and my nine-year-old nephew particularly loved the bunk bed (for lack of a better term-it was WAY cooler than a mere bunk bed!). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! My A/C-loving brother would have preferred everything to have been air conditioned, but the units in the bedrooms worked great, and the living room cooled off OK in the evening (although it doesn't get enough air circulation with just the screened windows open to really cool it down). My sister-and I enjoyed it just fine. :)

All we needed and more
We had a friendly welcome from Ryan who helped us get settled in, since Lori was temporarily immobilized with a broken ankle. We later met Tim and Lori, who were equally friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the gas BBQ and patio table with umbrella, since we spent our evenings outside watching the deer, sunsets and stars. The days were hot, however the house remained cool and we hardly needed the air conditioner. The house was very well equipped with nice touches (laundry detergent, toilet paper, shampoo... etc) The property is well situated for visiting Mesa Verde and Hovenweep. Our kids enjoyed visits to the Cortez city pool on family night.

From the moment I walked thru the door I was impressed. The unit exceeded my expectations, providing me with everything and more that I needed for my stay. Comfy, cozy and peaceful
We Loved our stay at Lori and Tim's place. First impression was happy about what all this place has to offer. Then we slept in the comfy beds and loved them. But what tops it off is the views of the mountains and the abundant deer that walk into the yard. There are also 2 loft beds in the 2nd bedroom for those with kids. We didn't use them but I bet kids would really enjoy them. Don't worry about privacy because Tim and Lori give you plenty of that. Stay here and enjoy, as we sure did.

Comfortable home, great location
We stayed for a couple of nights Thanksgiving week with our two kids. Perfect location for accessing Mesa Verde and other sites of southwest Colorado. The house had everything you need for a relaxing stay. City Market in Cortez supplied the groceries for great meals. The house is cozy and clean. You’ll love it.

Felt like HOME!
We knew the location would be perfect for our 4-corners trip, but it ended up being so much more than we expected! Lori and Tim (the owners) are such wonderful, friendly, and interesting hosts we just felt at home every day we were there! The house was perfect for us and had everything we needed. From the fully equipped kitchen to the full size washer and dryer to the great wifi. The beds were so comfortable we slept late several days and the breeze that came in the windows every night was such a nice change for us. We sat outside on the patio every morning for coffee and every evening to watch the deer. We had a truck, trailer, and 3 motorcycles and there was no problem having ample room for parking. Very quiet and private, yet only a few miles to either Dolores or Cortez for anything we needed, including some great places to eat. Lori and Tim were always willing to help or talk or show us places we should go to see great scenery or to eat. We only wish we could have stayed longer than we did. Very laid back easy going restful vacation that we truly enjoyed. Exactly what we wanted! We could easily live there it was so great! Thanks again for your kindness and your hospitality, this is a place we will always remember. Love you guys! Hope to see you two again someday!
