Nice for a low key, not fancy, getaway for 2 people.
Pros: -Great Location! Good restaurants within walking distance, liquor store, butcher shop, bagel shop. Most importantly the Windnsea beach! -Great view from rooftop -Hot tub has a fun little grotto feel, perfect for 2 people. -Game room is a nice touch complete with Laundry! -Roku System was useful for evening movie viewing -Tiny but mighty kitchen Cons: -Pictures need to be updated, especially the rooftop. There is no hammock, just two Adirondack’s, 2 loungers, a fire pit, a small gas grill and one umbrella. -The unlock code provided was wrong as it was in many previous reviews. Fortunately, I was able to get hold of the customer support line rather quickly and they helped with the right code. -There are no spices provided, be prepared to shop or bring seasonings if you plan to cook. -Bring your own bodywash/hand soap. They only provided 3 tiny pods of what I’d call “prison soap” powder. -No cleaning supplies provided. A broom would be nice for Sand and a Disinfectant spray for wiping counters would be useful. Only a tiny bottle of dish soap and a few laundry pods were left for us. -Cobwebs around the stairs could use some attention/cleaning -Entry gate needs some repair -Toilet Paper holder was broken I’d still stay again despite the few Cons.. hopefully they get the entry code corrected on the confirmation email.

That said, we apologize for any issues and we shared your comments with the local manager. They assured us that the toilet paper holder has been repaired and new photos can be taken for the listing. Additionally, the handyman will be scheduled to check the gate and the cleaners will clean the stairs and deck. Please know that they do their best to remove any spiderwebs but since the backyard has vegetation, it can be difficult to keep them from reappearing. To clarify, spices are not stocked for sanitary reasons and we apologize for any inconvenience. The soap provided is in accordance with California law as small, plastic containers can't be used. We enjoyed having you as our guest and hope to host you again.

Great location and great value
Beware codes may not work to get in but once you get in the place is as advertised. Lots of items for cost… game room, parking spot, washer/drywr. Rooftop deck, living room, kitchen etc! Worth a look

Showed up entrance codes didn't work. The team was professional, courteous, and tried their best, but they seemed undertrained. it took an hour and a half to get the door open while we waited in the cold. The local team would not answer your phone agent's call. I didn't give you zero stars for chekin because we did eventually get in, but the internet never worked. I called for help but your agent could not help. I asked for a return call from management (you). Instead I got this survey and a request for an online review. Ifyou like, you can try to convince me to ever stay at a Vacasa proprty again, or I could just submit this on VRBO.

Didnt want to leave
I loved this property and would definitely recommend it to others. It beats staying at a hotel. Everything is here that you would need. The only problems was checking in I was given wrong code and had to sit outside the unit for some time. There also was not enough towels. They only had two which would be for the shower but none for the jacuzzi. The hot water did not work the first night there. They did come the next day and fix that. Just a little confusing on do i call Vacasa or whom I contact for the issues we had. In the end everything got taken care of. We loved this place so much. Cant wait to go back

Short Stay
Great location! Close to beach and restaurants. Code for front door did not work. Took a lot of persistence on my part and 45 minutes of sitting at the door with my stuff to temporarily resolve. And another hour before it was permanently resolved.

Cozy, beachy cottage
First off we would definitely stay here again, it was perfect for my husband & myself. Keep in mind a few things: it is a beach area, gonna have worn paint, dampness and the upstairs can get stuffy. Also, note it is sparsely accommodated: 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels & 2 thin beach towels- no washcloths, no bath mat and no kitchen towels/cloths. Also TVs upstairs are NOT smart TVs- bring your Firestick/Roku if you plan on streaming your shows; only cable & DVD player with no DVDs provided onsite. And the game room downstairs is strictly pool & foosball - no board games so bring some along if you are inclined. Bring your books/magazines as nowhere nearby sells those items. The true highlight is the hot tub, very clean and warm for those cooler beachy evenings. The upstairs deck also nice, but much sparser than the photo depicts it. Furnishings are weathered but hey it's the beach and that's what salt air does to furnishings. Nice short walk to Windandsea beach-note the sea gulls are very aggressive! About 20 minute walk to downtown La Jolla. Over all, cool, rustic beachy vibe and would definitely return!

Good stuff and a few disappointments
While the area and the accommodations were described accurately, there were several disappointments * no hammock * broken foosball table - cant play if your defender has no legs * most of the dishes were dirty - thats just gross. Take up to date photos. Give the potential renter a clear look at what they are paying for. The good stuff - the house was so close to the beach! The little store down the allyway is great! Prompt responce for the repair of the water heater and helping us get into the house when the lock wouldnt work. Jacuzzi was great.

Misleading
The cabinet doors were just off of the hinges, so anytime you moved them they completely fell off. It was raining and there were multiple roof leaks, we had to use towels to catch the rain. The code provided was not an active code, so when we arrived, we were stuck outside in the rain for over an hour trying to get a hold of the property manager to get a code just to enter the house. Very very very outdated furniture, the couch smells like pee. Very unsatisfying vacation due to the overall underwhelming rental.

Great location
Nice place. Location is great, just a couple blocks from the ocean. Hot tub is a real cute, private setting. It’s a small place. But that’s what the pictures show. Rooftop patio is cool!

Great place for 1-3 people
I read the other reviews. If they are accurate this place must have improved. It is clean with a bedroom and separate living and kitchen area. It is second floor with a game room and family area on first floor. There is a hot tub which worked and we used alot. There is a super cool rooftop patio with ocean views. A block from a boutique grocery and some cool restaurants. 2-3 blocks to a beach. A 1.8 mile walk into the main area of La Jolla. Property manager wasn’t terrible but could have been better as I didn’t have check in instructions until I asked for them on the day of check in and the lady answering the phone seemed irritated by the call. I worked there remotely for two of my days and the internet was just fine

Great spot
Location and cleanliness are spot on! Having the rooftop deck was great especially for grilling and sunsets. It only gets four stars because there’s no air conditioning and it’s out dated. Washer and dryer worked fine and don’t forget, there’s a downstairs toilet. You are renting a full house, not a unit.

The location of this unit was great. However, there were a few issues. The floors were very dirty. The bathroom sink stayed clogged our entire stay. Our stay was in late June so it was warm outside. Unfortunately, it was quite warm inside as well. A box fan or two would have been very helpful.

The actual rental is not what is pictured, especially the rooftop deck....not even close! The plumbing in the bathroom was horrible, the shower never got more than lukewarm and the sink was clogged and drained extremely slow every time we used it. The TV's are old and very difficult to figure out how to use. The bedding was stained and improperly fitted and didn't even include a fitted sheet. But worst of all the pet smell inside the unit was horrible and we couldn't get rid of it no matter how hard we tried. The private hot tub and view from the deck were great. But this rental was misrepresented, overpriced, and we would not stay here again.

Not worth it!
This property is not appropriate for any long term stay. It is poorly maintained and very different from what it looks like on the website. The unit is very small, with no counter space in the kitchen, no storage in the bedroom. Because the bedroom was so small, the bed took up the entire room and we had to go into the bathroom to get dressed. We stored our clothes in the living room. The downstairs game room is a converted garage, with no heat or insulation. It was accessible only by exterior stairs. We spent hours on the phone dealing with maintenance issues. The hot water went off at least 5 times and we were told that this unit shares a hot water heater with the unit behind it and that the hot water is not big enough to accommodate both units. There was a natural gas leak as well, which took several days to get fixed. We have done literally dozens of VRBOs and never had a complaint about a single one until this one.

Simple spot in great location
Quintessential beach bungalow. Not fancy, but didn’t need to be because it’s half a block from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We were very happy and would certainly return. A few notes: 1) The three levels are only connected by an outdoor staircase. 2) There was no obvious functional light in or out of the hot tub - making it VERY dark at night. 3) On the rooftop deck, there are fairly wide open gaps in the protective railing. If you have little kids (we have a two year old), it’s something you have to be mindful of. They would easily slip right through.

Very small, close to beach.
We enjoyed being so close to the beach. it was very small. The two propane tanks for the fire pit were empty, so we missed using it. Also, the lower game room hand not been cleaned. The bathroom was not clean and there were dirty, used coffee cups around.

Great Little Bungalow for Two People
The location of this spot can't be beat -- so close to the beach and walking distance to the village. The only catch is that it is quite small. The listing says it sleeps 4, which it does, but it's tight quarters. Also there's no dishwasher, but there are a washer & dryer. I would definitely recommend this place for a couple. The top deck was so nice to watch the sunset and you can see the water. Overall, La Jolla is an amazing place to visit, and this little house became a nice place to come home to every night during our stay!

So close to the ocean
Upon arriving at the property, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was closer to the ocean and beaches than I thought. The property was wonderful offering a game room, hot tub, and rooftop deck, all of which were great. There are some slight safety concerns for younger children. A barrier blocking the understairs edge on the second floor would be safer for younger exploring kids. Also, the glass railing up on the rooftop deck could be tighter as to not allow access to smaller children off the edge. The kitchen and dining area windows could use screens to keep out insects. Other than these few things, the property was exceptional and our family of four had a blast!

Great Stay
This was an awesome stay! My wife and I stayed for a few days for a short getaway and absolutely loved it! Everything was as described and more. We were walking distance to the beach, a couple of restaurants, a 7-11 and a liquor store. The hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day.

Amazing location, the beach is so beautiful and the people in the community are friendly and helpful with tups and information. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing negatuve I could say is that there was a peculiar smell that is probably structural because it is an older building. Possibbly washing all the linens and drapery with some GAIN or TIDE or fragrant soap. We bought a bottle of FEBREEZE and that was that. All in All very nice!

Good value
This is a classic get what you pay for property. If you're looking for a really nice place with high end finishes and lots of space, then keep looking. If you want a place with all the basics in a really nice area - then this is it. Beyond the basics it does have a nice view from the roof top and also a decent hot tub. Couple minor things are the thermostat for heat needs replacing, some kind of light/s to see the keypads at both entries and a better wine bottle opener. Overall, I would recommend it as a good budget stay in La Jolla.

Perfect Getaway
My friends and I had an incredible time here. The rooftop deck was definitely the highlight of the property. At night we'd put the firepit on, it was a nice touch as San Diego nights were much colder than any of us were anticipating. The location was perfect too! We will definitely be back!

Great location
We really moved the location of this spot. We could walk to the beach one way and the other way to bars/ eateries. Once we arrived we didn’t drive anywhere so that was awesome! We were disappointed in the condition of the unit. It was not clean. The sheets felt like it had not been laundered so we had to wash those. The was bed frame was totally exposed and looked not very presentable. The pool table had sand on it and the room didn’t feel clean and comfortable. The spa cover is jacked and the steps to get into the spa leave a gap between them and the spa making it unsafe to use as a stepping stool. The units paint was chipping off and the handrail was rough. Spider webs too! We did love the upstairs area for the view and liked the “turf” grass which made it feel comfortable. I really don’t like to complain but the lounge chairs had damage to the seats and the padded covers were you guessed it, old and worn. We just wanted to enjoy our weekend and make the best of it as we were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary. If some love and care were to go into this property, it would be perfect!
