The room I got was literally on the street, so it was really noisy, yo could hear people talking or cars Passing. Also there was not even a bottle of water available . Would not recommend this hotel

This is such a quaint hotel. We loved the view from our balcony so close to the ocean and seal beach. Great restaurants in all directions. I would def recommend this boutique hotel.

Amazing! I went alone to visit family and I was able to navigate the area on my own with no problem. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately I had to leave two days before and the hotel manager was extremely helpful and understanding. I will return and I recommend!

I really liked hotel location - right across the beach, walkable everywhere day and night ( felt very safe, the feeling I forgot leaving in LA). Bed was very comfortable, Nespresso machine was a huge plus for me as I am a fan of the brand. I wish breakfast will be included, but there is a lot of options near by. I highly recommend to go to Nine-Ten restaurant at Colonial hotel within 5 min walk, it is superb. All this perks come though with some limitations:) If you are looking for a quiet place, the property might not work for you . There is very loud place across the street that plays loud music till 1:30 am . When we arrived we paid for upgrade for balcony and now I regret it, as we only paid for sleepless night. Nothing helped- ear plugs, complaining to front desk. I actually asked to refund my upgrade, since to brought us so many trouble, but the manager never reached out to me. So if you need peace, just ask for room not looking the street. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay.

Cool property. Rooms are smallish, but well designed. Balconies over looking the street can be a little noisy, but not terribly so. Great for the view and ppl watching. The roof top restaurant/bar offers great views, but the wait staff can’t make change? If I’m paying a $39 tab w/a $100 bill, the staff should be able to make change. The location is great.

If you looking for a beach to walk on, this is not the place for you. There is a walkway which overlooks rocks and water. Also a good spot for seeing the sea lions. However, advertising as “steps to the beach” is not true, as there is maybe 20 yards of sand right by the sea lions. Would not recommend.

The hotel is quite new and nicely decorated for a small hotel room. There is NO ELEVATOR! I was traveling alone with one small suitcase, so it wasn’t an issue for me, but if I had a larger suitcase, children, or disabled or older…this would not have been at all acceptable. The fact there is only stair access and it was not listed in the description isn’t acceptable.

The room was as advertised and decent for the price, and check-in went smoothly. It's near the ocean and plenty of dining options. We had a room that opens to the street on the first level and a few things could be improved: There was a large gap under the door which let in a lot of the street noise. They could add a door sweep and make the room much quieter. Also the bathroom door is a sliding barn door style that in no way blocks any sound.

The hotel is amazing and so we’re the staff. 3rd and 4th floors are walk ups without an elevator fyi. Location couldn’t be any better and most rooms have an ocean view.

The location was perfect! You're literally a few steps from the beach and La Jolla Cove. Free street parking options are limited but there is a parking garage just a few minutes away. I would definitely stay at the Cormorant again!

The hotel was in a convenient area near the La Jolla cove , the park and the views . I was very disappointed when I got to my room the pipe was obviously broken and a towel was placed underneath as if that would fix the problem. Housekeeping is suppose to make sure the room is clean but they left their uneaten lunch in the trash . That’s not hospitable service at all. They changed my room to 4th floor but I was literally next door to the restaurant so you could hear music ,laughter late at night . I wouldn’t stay here again

Poor customer service
Our room opened up RIGHT onto the lobby so we heard guests coming and going the whole stay. (Never been to a hotel where there was a room that close to the front desk. Felt like we were the en-suite to the reception area). We were flying back to the east coast on a red eye and as we were checking out, asked to leave our bags and pick them up later. We were told this was no problem. We’ve done this many times before and know it’s a typical courtesy. Just a couple hours after checkout, I received a voicemail from Elizabeth at the hotel telling me I needed to pick up the bags because they could not hold them “indefinitely.” I called back to explain that we had a flight that was leaving late at night and asking if they could hold them for us longer. Was told that no I needed to pick them up. And eventually given an ultimatum that I could pick them up before 5pm but no later. When we ended up picking up our bags, it was clear that there was plenty of space in the closet. So unclear what the urgency was… I fully recognize that my reservation ended when I checked out and the hotel is not required to hold bags for guests. That said, it is an established norm that hotels will accommodate guests in this situation. We cannot possibly have been the first guests ever to take a redeye after checking out of the Cormorant. The implication seemed to be “you checked out, we have your money, we don’t feel the need to be hospitable to you anymore.” Really disappointed.

Hotels.com messed up my reservation
The hotel was fine and accommodating, but when i showed up they had no reservation for me, even though i had Hotels.com confirmation The property was wonderful, staff was great, and would stay again. Not so sire about hotels.com Luckily were able to honor my rate and room on arrival, but had they been booked i would have been seriously inconvenienced

I really enjoyed the stay. It’s in a great location, the sheets, bedding & robes were super soft. They gave us a gift of some cookies with a nice note. There’s a nespresso, I’d suggest grabbing some waters to have in the room. One thing is we were on the street level, room 102, if you’re sensitive to noice, these rooms could be bothersome from all the people passing by and the vehicles and trucks.

It has an amazing view to the ocean from the balcony. But it’s quite noisy and you can clearly hear people in other rooms or even in the street. This is not good.

Our quaint boutique hotel is filled with and surrounded by life. Just minutes from La Jolla Cove, the Cormorant is within walking distance to wonderful shops and restaurants. Did you try drinks at the Birdseye on the rooftop?
