Family Fun
Lyons Creek is a beautiful property. It was clean, neat and as described. It was perfect for my quick family getaway. The only feedback I have would be to replace the outdoor grill. It needed some attention and was not operational. Otherwise, I would definitely rent this property again.

felt like goldilocks with my family
When checking in none of beds were made and house clearly had not been cleaned. Contacted property manager and he contacted cleaning crew. Check in was 4 but couldn't unpack until after 630pm. Felt like the whole process could have bene handled better. Never the way want to start a family vacation. lake gaston is beautiful place and will look for another location in the future.

Perfect weekend getaway!
We had a wonderful time here! It was perfect for our two families and dog with ample space. The home and lake absolutely beautiful! We rented the pontoon and throughly enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, and catching tons of fish! The stars from top deck at the pier were sight I will not forget! Host was amazing and responsive! Our stay with 11/10! Will stay again!

Really nice stay
We had a really nice long weekend here, and I would definitely stay again. The house was clean and had a well appointed kitchen (this is a big thing for me, especially since there aren’t a lot of restaurants nearby). The rooms were spacious and the linens were nice. My only feedback on the home itself was that it was pretty dark inside; some can lights would help brighten up the place, especially in the kitchen. The outside was a little disheveled and could have used some tidying up, also, but again, it was lovely. We did use the dock for our StarCraft Starstep E I/O, but it was a tight fit given the forward prop. If you have a wake boat, I would be weary of the water depth when you go; it could cause a problem for you. If the lake is low, especially, that area may not be deep enough. We had a difficult time getting in the door at first, so better instructions would help. We also couldn’t get in touch with the owner for a bit, so we were left outside while we figured out the lock. We would definitely stay here again; I gave 4/5 stars just because of the panic attack we had getting in the house and the dock depth situation. It would be helpful if those things were laid out better in the listing. The owner was pretty responsive once we got in touch!

Memorial Day at the lake
Our family of 4, as well as two other families (including kids ranging from 1 year to 6 years old), spent 3 days at the property. Despite the very rainy weekend, we had a wonderful time at Lake Gaston. The house was clean, well-stocked, and in a prime location. We even got some fishing and basketball in between storms. The property manager was quick to respond with any questions. Hopefully we can go back soon when the sun is out!

Great for a short stay
We had a great time during our short stay over for Thanksgiving! Plenty of space for all of us (6 adults, 2 children). Needs some updating/repairs but would definitely stay again!

Quaint, peaceful family retreat
Our family of 6 (plus a friend) enjoyed this early fall visit. The house was very quiet, clean and provided several amenities. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak, and option to rent the boat. There were several appreciated amenities indoors such as linens, paper products, 2 fridges, hooks to hang wet towels, fire pit, basketball court, seating options and a bar. To name a few! WiFi a little spotty but that made the kids do something else! Shopping and gas stations are 12-15 minutes away so stock up. Especially if it’s not the prime summer months as we learned this the hard way when trying to get gas for the boat. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay at Andrew’s place was great. All was as described in the listing.
The house was new newly remodeled and very nice. Air conditioning and water pressure were good. Beds were comfortable. Communication was great. The neighborhood and cove are quiet and the neighbors were friendly. We rented the pontoon boat and had a great time on the lake. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

Wonderful Quiet Retreat
We totally enjoyed our stay. Property was on a nice quiet cove away from all the boats and jet skis. The adults enjoyed quiet nights on the back deck. (Love the reclining deck chairs!) The kids loved their loft area. Everything looked just like the pictures. Only downside was kitchen not open to the rest of house.

Family vacation
We had a wonderful time at this lake house. The dock, kayaks, paddle board, and basketball court were much used. The home was comfortable, and clean. The grocery is a bit of a drive, so it’s good to pack some food.

Lyon’s creek
We had a great time. Interior House was comfy and clean. Great parking for 4-5 vehicles. Tight with boat trailer turns. Large dining table allowed our family of 10 to eat together. Kid space with tv in loft area was well appreciated . 2 fridges was a help with food storage and less grocery runs. Washer and dryer worked great. Paddle board and kayaks were fun. Dock accommodated our boats for fishing. (Big plus for us___ no jet ski traffic in this creek which made for safe boat tie up) shaded yard helped on very hot days.. interior AC great. Exterior of kitchen windows needed cleaning - Lots of cobweb build up. Kitchen area needs spray for ants and centipedes . Kitchen was well stocked except there were no kitchen dish towels. We used hand towels - this may have been just an oversight of the laundry service. Over all a great week!! Thanks for an enjoyable time!

Great place to stay!
Our family had a great time staying at this house! It was actually better than described which is always exciting. :) We had a slow drain in one of the tubs and the owner had someone come out to fix it the same day. We can’t wait to come back!!

Wonderful get away in a quiet area to relax and rest
very good, we truly enjoyed our stay. The property owner was very receptive to any questions I had. Also, stocked the house with everything needed to make the stay a wonderful experience.

Nice rental at the lake
Great location near the marina with all the amenities we needed for a short family vacation. Only gave it four stars because we couldn’t bring our boat due to the depth of the water but we were able to bring our wave runners.

Oh I wish we had talked. We have had two wakeboard boats at the dock at the same time which require good depth. It’s generally 4 feet deep which is good for most lake boats. I hope you will consider coming back in the future.

This is a beautiful house positioned in a perfect spot, the View from the kitchen window of Lake was beautiful! The house was clean and spacious for the 8 of us. We had everything we needed there and even though it rained, the provided a safe place to enjoy ourselves.

Spring Break!!
House was clean and very comfortable(especially the beds). Basketball court was fun to play pickup games on especially in the evening under the lights. Renting the boat would’ve been nice but the weather didn’t cooperate and it was a bit too cold for the fish to bite. We loved the fire pit in the evenings and had a good time grilling out. Overall great stay!

Relaxing weekend with friends
We had a very nice time here. The house is spotless, spacious and full of light. We enjoyed drinks on the deck and looking out over the water. It was very quiet and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bedrooms were comfortable and the loft was great for watching TV together. We plan to come back in the summer and try the kyacks.

Relaxing waterfront vacation
The place was clean and well furnished for different groupings. Basketball court, fire pit, and boats are great outside activities. We had a question for the owner during our stay. He responded within minutes to our request. I would highly recommend this vacation home!

Perfect for relaxing
It was everything we expected! Plenty of room for the ten people we went with and the kids/dogs loved it. We went for Christmas and the home was fully stocked with everything we needed to make a feast. The table and chairs perfect for accommodating our big family. The beds were super comfy and we will likely be returning if they allow us. The ONLY issue we had while staying there was that the smoke detector outside of the guest bath would go off after people showed. Not sure why but everything else was perfect. We had more than enough toiletries too. We made use of the basketball court too. Overall, definitely a 5 star stay!

Relaxing
Our family stayed here during Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. So relaxing and the house is very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and went on many walks. The house is off the road and the road is a dead end so there were no cars. We look forward to going back again.

Great getaway!
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend away! The house was super clean and nice. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The fire pit was amazing! We had fun kayaking and paddleboarding. It was great that we could bring the dogs, so they had fun too! Definitely will be back!

Fall on the lake
We spent a long weekend and had a blast. The kids lived playing in the water and rowing the kayaks and paddle board. The fire pit was also a big hit along with the pickup basketball games. The house works well and we managed the two bathrooms ok. Fall on the lake is wonderful.

Excellent house on beautiful secluded cove off the main channel
You can't beat the peaceful time you can have with a cup of coffee or a nice drink on the dock. You are tucked back in a beautiful cove and the breeze blows through the trees and it is the picture of peace. The firepit set-up is one of the best I have seen and was voted the favorite feature of this house. Bring your smore fixings. It is really great for a family gathering and is furnished in a way that makes "hanging out" easy. Hosts are responsive and are easy to work with. High marks all around for this property.

We Had a Great Experience at The House
The house was very nice, and check- in was smooth. My family and dog stayed at the property. Our dog loved the yard and the lake, and the kids had plenty of space to play. Everyone enjoyed going on kayaks, and the boat was great. Overall, the experience was lovely. Would recommend.

Wonderful Stay!
We were pleasantly surprised when showing up to check in. The pictures do not do it justice. The house is clean and cozy. All your needs are met! The beds are comfortable, showers are hot and there is so much outside room to spread out if you have a big family. The dock was nice and the paddle board was a plus! Our first visit to Lake Gaston did not disappoint!

Great newly renovated home in quiet cove!
Perfect sized home for our group of 9. The 4 teen boys took the bunk room upstairs that had a great TV/game area. The “light up” couch up there was a big hit! The new reclining couches in the main living room were great for relaxing. Room for everyone to be together in the same space. The dining table was a huge plus for us. We enjoy family meals with everyone at the same table and so few rentals actually have a table that can seat what they sleep! It was great for playing board games too! The house is located at the end of a quiet cove. No motorboats racing right by the dock! We fished right off the dock and caught bass, sunfish and catfish. There’s a large painted turtle that swims by the dock a couple times a day and the herons are always fishing nearby. Everyone had a great time!

Perfect Lake Home
We spent a weekend at this gem and it was not long enough. We will definitely rent longer next time because we will be back. The boat dock is awesome. My husband caught an 8 lb catfish right off the dock! There is also a jet ski lift which came in handy because we brought 2 with us. We really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. The house was immaculate and spacious. Lots of extra touches like 2 basketballs for the basket ball court that has a big spotlight so you can play at night. A deal breaker for us is uncomfortable mattresses and bedding. No worries, these were top notch! We also enjoyed the grill and huge fire pit where we made s’mores. The pictures do not do it justice. The area was quiet and peaceful and the neighbors were very friendly. The marina is close by and the restaurant has really good food and a great atmosphere. The owner was so sweet and responded immediately to any questions we had. Can’t wait to re-book!
