I’m a huge fan of VRBO. Went directly to them in order to find a clean, cozy place to stay. I chose this small studio condo. As I approached the front door to check in, I took a tumble on the sidewalk due to some debris on the walkway. I hit the ground hard, injuring both knees. I pulled myself together and proceeded to check-in. At check-in, they ask to place a hold on a credit card. I had never been asked this before at any other VRBO stay. To my surprise, this place was merely an extended stay hotel.
I was given a room that had dark, black marks on the ceiling. It looked like a form of mold. I was terrified! Called the desk and a maintenance rep was sent over. He was very kind. I was told that it wasn’t mold but grime from the air ducts. Hmmm…that did not make me feel any more comfortable. The front desk rep, Joy, then offered us another room in the building next door. I gladly accepted. This room appeared to be much cleaner than the first. Be careful!
As for my injury, I was told that their insurance company would be in touch with me. I’ve yet to hear from anyone. BEWARE!!!!
