The pictures do NOT reflect the actual rooms, which aren’t bad, but definitely not luxurious. They are cramped and the amenities are non- existent. Customer service is an absolute joke. The atmosphere is very gloomy. It’s not a historical quaint hotel as one might think, but in need of major renovation. HOW is this hotel 4.5 stars? Maybe 4.5 out of 10!!!!! Spend your money elsewhere.

A comfy cozy hotel with a small lobby that contains comfortable seating, fresh flowers, and a fireplace. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Has a family vibe, although very stylish.

The location in Greenwich is great! Walkable to many restaurants and shopping in Greenwich and West Village. The hotel is charming and has many unique features. Enjoyed the evening jazz in the lobby and happy hour snack and cocktails options. Brunch in the Society Cafe was delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dale, the doorman, was especially gracious. Rooms are small, but normal for NYC standards. My only issue was with air conditioning in the room. It was April and unusually warm weather for the second day of our stay. Our room was warm when we returned that evening. I cut the air conditioning to cool and found that the room was only getting warmer. The front desk said that the hotel did not have air until May. They sent up a fan and I opened a window. This would be concerning for a future stay for me during potentially warm weather season.

Hotel is decent, and provides the needed. i like the retro touch of the phone and the classic radio. The hotel should provide complementary water bottles in the room.

Great location and staff. Cute bar for happy hour drinks! Our only issue was that there is no air conditioning at this time of year and it was 80 degrees outside so our room was incredibly hot and uncomfortable. They did offer fans, but they should really consider having a/c in the shoulder season as well.

The hotel is charming and nice but there are other boutique hotels in the area I liked better. Overall it’s fine. If I had to stay there, it would be fine but if not I’d probably go back to other options I had. I do have to say the shower has great pressure!

This hotel wasn't really what I thought it was going to be. Various issues including not being able to store my luggage over a weekend so I could go away and come back on the Sunday night. One member of staff said this was possible but another said it wasn't, so I took my luggage to another hotel and stayed there on the Sunday evening. Yet, The Walker charged me for the stay even though I cancelled and didn't check in. General miscommunication and confusion. I'm waiting for the refund. The room is badly designed too. I had to put my make up on in bad lighting with my make up bag on the toilet. And I didn't think the room was very clean. It's in a great location and the price isn't bad compared to other hotels, but I wouldn't stay again.

We were only staying for one night in the same area of the city where our son lives. The hotel was walkable from where he lived. The room was quiet and clean. I am hoping an incidental charge that was on our bill comes off it as promised. We didn't eat the peanuts.

Everything was excellent. My only issue I had with this hotel is that you cannot change the temperature of your room. I do realize that it is a very old building, and it would be almost impossible to change that feature but if I would’ve known before I booked that I could not change the temperature in my room, I would not have stayed there. I could not sleep because it was so hot! Even with the window open, I was burning up I spent a great deal of money to stay in a five star hotel, and I could not sleep. I was so hot. My suggestion is that you allow people to choose for themselves and make it known on the website before you book that is not possible to change the temperature of your room

This means we either provide cool air or hot air but not both. We are due to switch to the ac unit that provide the cool air soon. We do provided the guest with information on how to turn off the heat which was to put the thermal on auto and off to stop. I do apologize for the information not being provided to you during your stay. I hope you do book with the Walker Hotel Greenwich Village in the future.

We enjoyed our stay. The first full day, however, there was a huge water leak in our room. The hotel moved us to another room, and offered to comp us dinner at the restaurant for our troubles. We already had dinner plans for the rest of our stay, so we asked if we could use the compensation at the hotel bar. We charged the bar bill to our room, and are still waiting to see if they will compensate us for the bar bill instead of a dinner bill.

This is just an average hotel. There is nothing particularly special or appealing about it. The staff isn't really friendly and they have a bit of an attitude. Not really worth the price they charge.

The Walker hotel was such a cute property. The decor is thoughtful and old New York. Each staff member we interacted with was pleasant and polite and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job. We were able to leave our luggage for the day after check out which was convenient. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and decently sized for NY. Would definitely stay again!

I would never recommend the Walker Hotel in Greenwich Village! There was not even one friendly employee. This was only a place to sleep for us, thank goodness, but when we came in at the end of the day and needed anything, for example..towels, it was a huge hassle. We left the do not disturb on the door and figured at the end of the day we would ask for some new towels..these people acted like this was just putting them out and did not care to accommodate sort of a prompt manner at all. I asked for a set of towels our second night, was told they would be up within 15 mins- I even asked if I could wait downstairs for them and that was a no- so 30 mInutes later in our room..still no towels. I called the front desk and it rang and rang. No answer. Finally someone came to the door. With a blanket. I said hi I asked for two sets of towels and he went back down to get more. When he came back he brought us two bath mats and one hand towel. We were obviously very frustrated as it was midnight at this point so we just let it go. The third night..same thing. We mostly needed washcloths and the man brought us two large towels only after I asked the lady downstairs to make sure we got two sets. I told the man we needed two washcloths too and he said to come down and get them at the desk. It was midnight at this point!! And this is all after I had once again already been down to the desk and asked if I could wait for them and was told no. This place and the employees are crap.

The lobby and the adjacent cafe were very welcoming. There was coffee or cider available. We sat a while enjoying the drink and ambiance. The room was stylish and beds comfortable. The shower was great. All of it made for a great place to stay in Greenwich Village.

The Walker is a tiny gem tucked away in a really fun part of the city and totally accessible to anything you’d want to do in NYC. Any hotel is made or broken by the people who work there and the staff at the Walker are exceptional - helpful, fast, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great stay with our daughter and her partner, in their 20s, and they found plenty of great food and shopping nearby and loved having a cocktail in the jewel box lobby lounge by the fireplace at the end of the day. We’ll be back!

Great stay, nice staff, good food, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Great stay. If I had to complain, the rooms are small, but it’s the west village, you expect that.

December at the Walker
The lobby and sitting areas are great and comfortable. The bar and dining room are terrific and the service is excellent. Our room felt small because it had two beds. There was a small closet and not room for luggage or much else. Nice bathroom with very powerful shower. Hotel is in a great location. A block from subways. I would come back here.
