The room I was assigned smelled awful. When I look up at the ceiling, I saw a smoke detector that had been wrapped in wet paper towels, that then dried into an egg carton-like form, rending the life-safety device completely useless.
At the front desk, I was offered another room. I declined. An organization that gives me a room in such terrible and obviously non-code compliant state immediately loses all trust for me. In my professional experience, this kind of neglect points to systematic management problems. There's no way I can trust that another room in the same property is going to be life safety code compliant.
I asked for my credit card charges to be reversed. I was told it was a non-refundable reservation. I said I'd disputed the charges late, but I was not staying there under any circumstances. That grievance will be filed next.

Just a nice clean place to stay, nothing spectacular or extraordinary, amenities were ok with the workout room being nicer than normal. Access to highway was excellent.

"Our bed was broken and couldn’t be repaired till the next day so we had to sleep with are heads pointing down to the ground. They did fix the bed the next day. The hotel didn’t compensate us for our issue."
