Owner /manager was nice and helpful, but property is falling apart. Won’t be around much longer. And there might be people living in some of the rooms, and possibly homeless getting houses, not sure

This was the dirtiest motel I have ever seen. There were junked air conditioning units laying in the lobby and the room we were given was filthy. They did immediately refund our money without argument when we said we were leaving.

Do not stay here
Do not go here. Cigarette burns in the sheets , used soap, used coffee grounds in coffee pot, dirty, no staff on the grounds/office locked had to wait for someone so we could check out the next morning- we left a day early.

The property was conveniently located to where I needed to go. The interior was not the most current, but given the price, it worked out fine.

Was asked if we wanted to “see” our room before we checked in to make sure we were okay with it. Red flag! I’ve never been asked that before. Stinky, hot no breakfast. No coffee in the rooms. Dirty. When trying to check out I was locked out of the hotel and pressed their call button and was told to just leave the key on the bench…

This place was disgusting- entered roon big stain on bedspread- crumbs on counter -ac didnt work -soap peices in tub - walked right out - refund given-never attempted to explain -they knew- never ask for credit card only cash - left and went elsewhere

Great price but room could be better.
Room was outdated and could use touch up. Room looked a little “dirty” due to age. I would have spent a little more to stay at a nicer hotel.

Awful!
I dont write many reviews but felt a need to let people know. I knew booking this for our grandson's baseball tournament that it wasnt a top tier hotel. The lobby & room smelled of old smoke, they gave us 2 barh towels for 4 people, the spreads looked washed but had cigarette burns & stains, the bed had 2 flat pillows, no blanket just a top sheet. The knob on refrigerator was missins so it didn't work. The seats on chairs sunk in when you aat and upholstery stained. The bathroom had black stuff on tiles and a rubber matt that was stuck to bottom that was coming up on edges. The room overlooked the abandoned old pool & equipment. When we wanted to check out in morning no one was aroynd to give key to and although we rang bell..no answer. We finally called hotel number and man answer and told us to drop behind counter. For the $79 just awful!

Worse place I ever stayed
The refrigerator didn't work properly. Lighting was horrible. Tub didn't drain properly. The bed was hard. Pillows were flat. The bedspread had cigarette holes. Big stain on the carpet. Bathroom was dirty and was not swept while we were there. I know this cause there was a paper on the floor when we arrived and stayed in the floor

About my stay...
For the price and availability the motel was just fine. I had no concerns about safety, or cleanliness. The only thing that would have been nice would be some sort of breakfast bar. Even some cereal, toast, or donuts with coffee would be nice. I'd stay again...centrally located in Scottsbluff and easy to access from main streets in town.

Unhappy in Scottsbluff.
Hotel is run down and dingy. The exterior door was left unlocked with no secure access. The hallways are dark and dingy. There was no mattress pads on the beds. The maid did not clean our room on the second day of our stay. The tv was out dated and the picture did not fit the screen. The pool was unusable and looked to be condemned. There were outlets with out cover plates. One outlet did not work. The door lock did not work properly and was very hard to access the room.

The issue was mostly with the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. We were travelling with friends and booked three rooms. The cleanliness and condition of one room was terrible. The carpet, bathtub, bedspread, and pillows looked pretty bad. The facilities were pretty run down. The staff however was very responsive to any request so no issues there.

If you stay ask to see your room and bring a bug bomb and air freshener or pay the extra 25 dollars to stay in a decent room somewhere else.........

You get what you pay for
I was greeted by a locked office door and had to ring a bell for service. (It was 2:00 in the afternoon.) This motel is for people who just want to sleep and NOT spend time in their room. Biggest disappointment, the bathroom. The water in the bathtub was constantly running which produced a pretty big rust stain. Only two bath towels were provided. No washrag or hand towel. There was a microwave and a coffee machine. No complimentary coffee to start. The king bed was comfortable but I would never spend time in this room.

Not the best in Scottsbluff...
Worn, dated, and uncomfortable...rug, chairs, and bed coverings were not clean. Dusty...TV remote was gone on our arrival, but desk agent did replace it quickly... No ice machine and the promise of ice before we left in the morning by 7:00 was not kept, and we left around 7:15. We do not recommend the Candlelight unless no other places are available. The relatively low price would not get us to stay there again.

Blast from the past
Hotel was cute, an actual key and furnished with well cared for but aged "thrift store" furniture. My only complaints were the bathtub was clean.. but so old it looked dirty, the wifi wouldn't stay connects, and there was an old guy that appeared to be living in the room a few doors down.. he stayed outside a lot and when he wasn't staring at me, he was trying to talk to me. I couldn't go outside and expect any privacy. The owner was very nice.

Old, sad looking room. No breakfast.
When we checked in we found out that the free continental breakfast didn't exist. We looked at the room and although it looked dismal, the town was busy and nicer motels were fully booked. The quilt on the bed was icky and the carpet needed a good shampooing.

Not the best hotel
This is a very out dated motel. There is no breakfast even though it states it is provided. We stayed 3 nights and one night they didn't even clean our room make the beds or give us fresh towels. The bed covers were stained. The beds were very comfortable. The wifi was free but very slow and weak. The room was to be non smoking but it smelled like second hand smoke. The walls were dirty and there were some fire hazards as the plug in plates were either missing or broke. I would not recommend this hotel. It is very old and would be a very good hotel back in the 1980's. There was no mold or stains in the tub or sink which was good but the shower curtain was stained and dirty. It had all the newer amenities like microwave fridge coffee pot and iron but the microwave and fridge were plugged in a power strip. Next time we go to Scottsbluff NE we are staying in a chain hotel where it is cleaner and you don't feel like there could be bed bugs or something in the room. The faucet in the tub was tricky to turn on and off. Once it was on it had pretty good water pressure and we didn't run out of hot water. If you are not a fancy person or don't care about what the rooms look like then this hotel is for you. Don't expect anything fancy.

No frills small dated motel but very comfortable and staff was great and accommodating. Nice place to stay if you're just looking for a hot shower and place to close your eyes for the night

We were coming in late to Scottsbluff, and the gentleman at the front desk called us to verify that we were still coming in, and he stayed until we got there. Very nice man. Clean and comfortable room. Inexpensive. Definitely recommended.

Affordable and friendly
The Candlelight Inn is dated, but it's good for an overnight stop in Scottsbluff. Staff were friendly and efficient. It was affordable, quiet and an easy drive to anywhere in town. Plus free wifi!
