Clean warm room, with great shower and a lovely breakfast . Perfect for me .

Lovely apartment. Have now stayed in Edinburgh and St Andrews apartments. Kitchenette light on utensils/cloths but overall a lovely quality property.

Check-in was quick and easy and the room was clean. Good water pressure in the shower. It's a bit of a maze and there's several buildings so they showed me mine. Breakfast was good, but the first day the buffet coffee was very watered down and weak. Air-conditioning didn't go below 20 on the cool setting, but it was fine for me. You have to request crockery from reception as there is nonebin the kitchen from the start. Be aware that because the site does have some upgrade work happening some of the footpaths aren't as shown on Google maps, this meant I was walking around a bit lost on property. I did ask for confirmation for two different stops on two occasions from different employers and was assured the stops were in the direction indicated only to find they weren't. The buses were a mix of convenient and not, unsure if there's less services because it wasn't term time or not.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Great location in a pretty village with an amazing beach nearby. Will definitely return.

The Abbey Residence has a rooming house feel. We had a spacious room with large but dated ensuite. The walls could use a lick of paint, but there were no real issues with the room. Wifi was good and our room had a good sized Roku based smart TV with lots of streaming options. Parking in central Edinburgh is hard so leave your car at the Abbey Residence and catch the bus into town from the bus stop just across the road. It’s no high end hotel, but our room was clean and comfortable with good wardrobe and desk space. The staff were friendly and helpful. A local supermarket was just across the road if you need any ancillary items. There’s some traffic noise from the adjacent streets, but not enough to stop us from getting a good night’s sleep on the large soft bed. Overall a much more pleasant experience than you’d expect for the price point. Highly recommended for those wanting good value.
