Girl’s getaway
Beautiful view of the lake! It’s a very comfy house with lots of amenities and games. It’s also very close to the lake. I would definitely stay again!

Great Views
The views are awesome! Nice to have Satellite TV and the place was clean when we checked in! Directions need updated to Turn South at Walmart not take Point Drive south! The name of the street has changed quite some time ago because everyone we asked at Walmart did not know its location! Luckily GPS knew better and got us there! I would suggest non-stick pans for kitchen and I think it's time for an upgrade to the beds! It's tax deductible for you and would complete the lake house for all to enjoy! Wasn't fond of the Blackstone Griddle would prefer a traditional grill! Thanks for sharing your Lake Home!

Great little property
Very happy with the cabin, it had all the essentials. One thing to note that might be missed while reviewing the listing is that the property does not have an internet connection. It didn't bother us and we had sufficient cell phone coverage to do a mobile hotspot for the few hours we needed it. The adults in our group hung out on the patio while the kids enjoyed exploring the backyard. Great view of the stars at night. Our kids, ages 10-12, want to go back!

Family get away
We LOVED it. Went hiking, enjoyed the scenery and quiet. Our daughter even loved getting away and was all right with no video games or internet. Our son drove down on Thanksgiving Day for a few hours and said he will definitely be looking to rent this place in the future. It had everything we needed!

Surprise
Should have read ALL the reviews telling about the condition of the house. Very old, needs updating, needs a good cleaning, trash was behind the couch-visible, upstairs outer bedroom door would not close and lock. Vertical blinds in living room and master bedroom missing slats. Downstairs sliding door had only an old stick in the tracks to keep it closed, no actual lock on the door. Home was dark and dingy. Coffee pot was very slow making coffee-needs replacing. Some of the bath towels set out in bathroom looked dirty-we didnt use them. Master bed could use a dust ruffle and newer comforter. Seeing a can of bed bug killer in the laundry room made me shiver. Then finding it almost empty made me check my bed every night-4 long nights since the door wouldn't lock either.... porch view was the best thing about the house. House is very close to another house. Was difficult for us to find initially. We are just used to stays in homes that are in much better shape than this one. Very disappointing! READ THE REVIEWS, FOLKS! Will not be back.

Pam, sorry the house didn't meet your standards. It is not a holiday inn but it is our lake house. We apologize that it was not clean that is unacceptable on our part. The bed bug is a preventative measure since we do have many guests (I hope you understand that). Again, we apologize that it wasn't clean.

Definitely a hidden gem!
This is our second stay at this property. It has everything you need for a great stay. Just bring your food & you're set. The sunsets off of both decks are stunning. Plan to return next year.

Beautiful View, House Needs Attention
Our overall experience at this property was good and we really enjoyed our stay; however, that is heavily weighed by the view of the lake which is absolutely spectacular. Getting to the house though is a bit rough as the roads are narrow and rutted with potholes; however, it is down the road from Wal-Mart and a nice swimming spot at the lake. It is also relatively close to the CNRA and Turner Falls. The house itself is a good sized with two bedrooms, the master which has the amazing view of the lake for you to wake up too. There are many items though that need to be fixed in the house that we encountered. The flashing for the deadbolt needs to be repaired as there is only one screw holding it in place. When showering in second story bathroom, it leaks down in front of the wood burning stove in the living room and the drainage is poor so you will be standing in ankle deep water. The ceiling fans light fixtures need to be secured better as several seem like they are about to fall. The sliding glass doors leading outside are difficult to open and close. There was also a lot of trash that we found around the house and outside. The light fixture over the down stairs shower also needs to be repaired as it fell out and was dangling by the wires. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay and feel that this property has the potential to be an amazing 5 star vacation spot if these issues are resolved.

We loved the deck and view the most
Me and my husband and 8 yr old stayed here and it was really nice peaceful and quite. The only things we noticed were floors were not swept underneath table in living area. The grill outside could not be lit. The couch in living area was a little dirty and crumbs inside cushions. The stove could be updated. Does not have a vint so it can get smoky when cooking. Needs stainless non stick pots to cook on. Other than these things we’d rent it again. You would not go wrong by renting this property. The one bed in the guest room upstairs is a little lopsided. We loved the king size bed in the master bedroom. The decks and views were great! Beautiful place! I’d love to buy this property if I could. Great for home away from home.

I would recommend this cabin to anyone. Clean beautiful view. Close to both town and swimming area at the lake. Everything we needed was right there. The house was fully furnished and had plenty of space for all 5 of us.

Perfect
The cabin was stocked with every amenity possible except WIFI (cell service worked fine). This may seem like a deal breaker to some, but in our case it made the trip- my kids put their phones down and fully participated in the games and conversations. There was even small things provided that just made the stay. Like wood for the fire pit-perfect for S’mores. There was a flat top grill and propane. The restrooms had body wash, shampoo, and ample towels. The kitchen had every utensil needed to prepare dinner. There were even board games to play and a life size Jenga. But if you did forget something and it’s not already in the cabin Walmart is a short drive down the street. The cabin was older, but clean and kept. After reading previous reviews about a sliding door not locking I was concerned, but the doors did lock. We also had no issues with the other things mentioned in previous reviews like front door locks and drains. The only two things you might want to prepare for is there is no ice maker there were a couple ice trays and the coffee pot is slow both of these issues are easily addressed at the Walmart right up the street. Do not let those discourage you from a amazing weekend getaway in a great cabin. The view from the upstairs balcony cancels out those minor inconveniences.

Arbuckles Retreat
All in all, our experience at the vacation home was excellent. The location is stellar and it was a comfortable place to come home to after exploring the area. The property owner was prompt and communicative when we had questions as well. Our only major complaiint is that a more thorough job of cleaning the place could have been done ahead of time. The couch had crumbs all over it that we had to vacuum up on our arrival, the first floor shower had hair on the walls and in the drain, and cleaning supplies were left on the first floor deck when we arrived.

Older home, great view, quiet area, needs a deep clean
We enjoyed our stay. However, it is an older home, so if you're looking for something other than a cabin type getaway, look elsewhere. The view was beautiful and the area was quiet. There were several issues though. The biggest issue is that we did not find out that there was NO wifi until we checked in - it should be clearly stated on the ad. The front door lock is very difficult to operate with the key. The door upstairs to the outside deck does not latch so there is no way to lock it. I had read on previous reviews about the front door look and also that the coffee pot was slow, the upstairs shower did not drain well and a towel rack fell off easily. None of these things were fixed by the time we arrived. My husband fixed the towel rack and we placed a chair up against the door. The house is old and so "age" is expected, but the light fixtures had dead bugs in them and there was dirt/grime behind the stove knobs as well as a smoke problem when turning the oven on. The outside light above the door was not working either. When we returned after the tornado warning (we drove to the local Walmart for safety), water had come in from the ceiling and dripped onto the living room floor. We assume it came in from where the upper deck is attached to the master bedroom on the upper floor. We told the home owner about it.

Great Getaway
We had a fantastic time. Actually called the owner and asked if we could stay an additional night we didn’t want to leave. He was very gracious and made the arrangements so we could. Jason was very nice. Beautiful view and the deck was a great place to relax and read a book. No noise whatsoever. Peaceful and relaxing. When you’re ready for some fun go to town and visit the casino at the Artisian Hotel and gamble and have dinner. J & J

First year wedding anniversary.
First year wedding anniversary. The view at the location was spectacular and the highlight of the weekend. I chose this location specifically for the sunset view. The view is not quite as nice when the upstairs sliding glass door has fingerprints all over it. I would expect if you have that kind of view that the windows would at least be clean. Also the upstairs bathroom had at least an inch of dust on the light globes. When I went to set the rug on the floor to take a shower there were hairs stuck on the bathtub rail and after I got out of the tub there was a hairball floating in the bottom of the tub. I don’t have black hair so I’m positive they were not mine. Considering I paid a stiff for a cleaning fee I would have expected a cleaner space. I have photos upon request. I must add while I have your ear that the locking mechanism was quite difficult to use. It seems it needs some attention. Also the downstairs curtains emit an odor that is similar to BO. If this was my property I would want to know these things. Thanks for listening.

It was ok
The house could use quite a few repairs and updates. We tried to contact the manager bc the thermostat was locked at 73 degrees which in Texas summers is rather high especially when sleeping at night. The bolt lock on the front door would not lock which caused us not to feel safe. The water pipes need to be cleaned out. Toilet would not completely flush and water would take a while to drain in shower and sinks. My mattress was not a regular mattress but a thin one like you would see on a trundle. Now the view from the balcony was gorgeous. For what we paid I felt it should have been better maintained. I wouldn't recommend it.

Perfect accommodations for me and my sister! I rented the house for her 70th birthday and we had a blast! Cooked in, grilled on the deck, ate out……just did whatever we wanted! Very private even though other houses are nearby. Close enough to town & shopping for convenience. Wonderful view of Lake Arbuckle! Would definitely stay here again!
