We had a wonderful 2 week stay at this property. It was the perfect size home for our family of 4 (kids aged 9 & 12 shared the room with two twin beds). We never touched the TV. We swam, boated, paddled around when the tide was high--pay attention to the tides. The house is perfectly stocked with everything you will need to cook, read, puzzle, and game. It's clear that this is someone's home and it held a lot of love. The water access and views are unmatched. Incredibly private spot. It's geographic location is great--can get to rt. 1 easily or down the peninsula an. And from its location, the whole of Midcoast Maine is your oyster (or lobster).
Now for the asterisk (well maybe two). While the geographic location of this cottage is heaven, the road to get there is not picture perfect. It passes a fair number of houses/trailers that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, The boat, furniture, and trash graveyards that line the road eventually get easier to drive by without seeing. But the hand painted political signs never truly fade from view. Oh, and the green head flies never leave you when you get to the water.
You can't change your neighbors. And this house was a wonderful place for us to escape to during uncertain times. It is a special home and we are grateful we were able to spend our vacation there.
