Work way from home
This property provided the most relaxing environment I've ever experienced in a rental property. The creek, cows, surrounding farm were beautiful. It was a little trip back in time. My family had a wonderful time!

Mother/Daughter Weekend
It is beautifully tucked away with hills surrounding you. We are from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Moldova. We haven’t been together in many, many years. We celebrated 2 of the mom’s 70th birthdays. You are so close to Cades Cove, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Perfect Getaway Spot
This house is beautiful, steeped in history, and placed in idyllic surroundings. At night all one hears is silence. During the daytime on the front porch the babbling brook will soothe the soul. This was our 4th visit. There are reasons that we keep returning!

Twin Oaks was Great !!!!
Arrived at the property and was amazed at the cleanliness. Everything was perfect! The appliances were all high end luxurious!! Beds were very nice !! The property was beautiful!! A Unique and Wonderful Historic Home
If you like unique homes this is the property for you. This home is the most relaxing property I've stayed at. The home is nearly 120 years old but has all the modern amenities we have become so reliant on. Of course you dont have to use the wifi if you just want to disconnect and enjoy peace and serenity. The house is located at the end of the road that dead ends at the driveway so there is no road traffic. The front wrap around porch is huge and overlooks a babbling stream that has a valley and mountains as the backdrop. The cows and turkeys make thier rounds up the valley in the mornings and evenings. The owners were exceptional to work with. Communication with Lou was nearly instant if i needed something. He even allowed me the use of the garage to keep some of my stuff in while we were there. The property is located 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge, 15 minutes from Maryville, and 10 minutes from Townsend. So things to do and places to eat are not far away. If youre wanting a peaceful place to get away, i highly recommend this properly as your destination. I know we will be back again.

Beautiful setting and home. Home with so much history! Loved the setting! Clean and very accommodating for guests. Louis was very responsive as property owner. One of our best VRBO rentals to date! Close to our chosen activities in the Smoky Mountain National Park.

Absolutely beautiful
Peaceful and relaxing. Did not want to leave. Lou was amazing and very flexible, and kind enough to give us a history of the house. He’s Done a lot of work and it shows. Sit on the back porch at nite , listen to the steam and watch fireflies Dane in the dark. Coming back for sure!!

A Step Back Into A Simpler Time
This house and property is an absolute dream! It will charm you from the moment you drive down the road and take in the idyllic country setting. From the creek babbling in front of the property, the beautiful setting, the amazing porches, and the gorgeous Victorian style home, you will not be disappointed! The house and grounds were immaculate and immediately makes you feel at home. We could’ve stayed here for weeks and plan to return again. There are some delicious restaurants in Townsend and the Smokies are practically in your backyard! This is my favorite VRBO that I have ever stayed in! The kitchen is well stocked and wonderful to cook in. The owners have literally thought of every detail! Do not pass by this property without booking! The owners are very attentive and kind!

Lovely farmhouse!
This is a beautiful farmhouse! We had a few mishaps that were ultimately our own fault and the owners were very responsive and understanding. Close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but remote enough to provide peace and quite. Best part is you can sit on the porch and watch the cows roam their pasture every morning 🙂

Peaceful Bliss + Beautiful garden
This was our second time staying at this lovely Victorian home and, once again, this property exceeded our expectations. We stayed during the Fall previously, and the yard and garden are just as beautiful in the Spring. The front porch rocking chairs and porch swings are favorites...so peaceful and relaxing and a great way to enjoy your morning coffee or wind down after a busy day. The home is lovingly restored and information about the history of the home and family makes one appreciate it even more,

Just the best!
We started off looking for a cabin, and found this beautiful house instead. It was so comfortable and the valley is very peaceful. As a renovator a Victorian houses myself, I had a greater appreciation for the beautiful job the owners have done updating the house without losing any of its timeless character. And unlike many rentals I have been in, the fully stocked kitchen was a joy to cook in. It was like being home, but in Wear Valley

Like a Bob Ross painting - a happy place!
Our 3-generation family of 4 adults and 2 young children stayed for 8 nights. Location is perfection- close to amenities but tucked away on a peaceful road. We made most of our meals at home and appreciated appliances in working order. If you bring your own coffee, make sure it’s ground as there is no coffee grinder. There is a full-size refrigerator in the laundry room that you can’t see in the pictures. Washer/dryer are large capacity and wonderful for a longer stay and when you bring kids! Fireplace was fabulous (the pilot light was out when we arrived; luckily, we were able to get it started ourselves, so we didn’t have to wait for the owner to remedy the problem). We utilized all of the beds with mixed reviews- king bed downstairs too soft, blue room bed too hard, green room bed just right, the sofa bed upstairs is really only suitable for young children). Plenty of extra blankets and excellent quality towels. Bathrooms are large and have heaters—a luxury! Only complaint was the cleanliness of the house. There was a bad smell in the living room when we arrived and we traced it to a dead mouse that had been there for some time. There were mouse droppings on the couch upstairs, 100s of dead ladybugs, cobwebs, and upstairs shower had mildew. This may not be typical as we came in the off season, and after we spent a short time cleaning it did not detract from the rest of our stay. I’m still giving the house 5 stars as we would absolutely stay again…it’s that special!

Amazing, peaceful and beautiful!
As a VRBO renter for several years now , each home is a different experience, some feel more like home than others. This is the best home experience I've ever had. It brought back the old time memories of holsumness and peace and to just let the troubles of our world be silent for a few days . Such a wonderful home away from home ..we all three truly enjoyed and made some great memories while being here ..

Perfect location for an up-country experience
If you enjoy Maui's up-country, this cottage was made for you! It's a departure from the hustle and bustle of West Maui, providing a truly local experience. You'll wake up in the morning to the sounds of exotic birds singing, and for us there was always a light rain falling. Before long, the sun breaks through and you're treated to a beautiful rainbow while you eat breakfast on the lanai. The hosts, John and Maggie, are very responsive to any questions you may have. And their dog paid us a good morning visit on the front porch nearly every day! We will definitely be back!

Peaceful Country Getaway
My family stayed in this beautiful historic home over the New Year, and it was by far my favorite VRBO find! The home is charming and makes you feel like you are stepping back in time, yet it provides all the modern amenities you need and more (the wall heater by the shower was glorious). We cooked dinner every night, and the kitchen is fully stocked. Need a garlic press? They have it. Need grilling utensils? They have those too (plus charcoal and gas grills). There is even a fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows. The property surrounding the home looks like a postcard. The home sits in a valley surrounded by foothills, and a beautiful creek lines one side of it. You can relax on a bench or sit on one of the porch swings and enjoy the peaceful sound of water rushing by. A barn and pasture full of cattle are just around the corner. My 6-year-old loved walking down the lane and watching the little calves play. While the home is neatly tucked away, everything you may want to visit in the Smokies is nearby. It really is the perfect location. Overall, this property is a gem. We will be back!

Perfect Christmas Vacation
There aren't enough words to describe the perfectness of this home. The pics don't do it justice as it is soo beautiful and the valley is peaceful and quiet. The home was stocked with everything we needed and more. The seclusion was just what we needed but perfectly located close to town. The drive in the valley to the house is calming. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

A Trip to the Simple Life
This place was a dream, truly a dream house and property. Everything was perfect for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving and enjoy some relaxing time watching the wildlife outside our doors on the front porch or enjoying the fire pit or cooking food in the lovely kitchen. It felt like we got to be people living in the country… if just for a few days. The place was well stocked with everything we needed and very clean and well kept. Not a far ride to The Smokies or more to do if we wanted it. We will definitely be back.

This property is a dream come true. The views are spectacular. And the location allows you to just spend time in the peace and tranquility surrounding you or you can drive a short distance to area attractions - the best of both worlds! Wonderful house

Peaceful vacation
The property was just what we were looking for. It was private and very peaceful location. The home and grounds are beautiful. Lots of wildlife to watch. The front porch is the best spot to be. You could watch the birds, cows, turkeys, etc.. The stream in front of the house just made it all the better. Mr. Lou, the owner, was always just a phone call away and very friendly and helpful if you needed him. If you could tear yourself away from the house there was plenty to do nearby in Townsend, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge.which were just short rides away. Loved it and will be back.

Gorgeous and relaxing
This was perfect for the 8 of us. There were 3 of us in our 60's and 5 teens. Plenty of room inside and out. The bikes were a nice touch (wish there were 2 more). Sitting on the large porch, having cocktails (for the adults), looking at the mountains, watching the wildlife, was the highlight of our vacation! Only minus was the mattress on the pull out couch. Definitely could use an upgrade.

Exceeded expectations for all
The photos can never do justice to this fabulous house. It is quiet and peaceful, yet about an hour drive to everything you would want to do in the area. We were ages 16 to 50 and all loved the house so much, were reluctant to leave and glad to be back each evening. If I never get to come back, I will spend all my days trying to.

Beautiful country hideaway
This place was even better than I hoped for. So beautiful and peaceful you could just relax on the porch for hours. The grounds are as beautiful as the house and I couldn't stop taking pictures of everything. Staying in a Victorian house has always been on my bucket list and now I can check that off, but if we ever come back to the area I'd absolutely want to stay here again!

AMAZING AND SECLUDED
I don’t know how anyone could give this property below a 5 star. It is very cozy and quiet. It is secluded at the end of a road that leads specifically to the farm house. You hear nothing but the creek and silence. The only thing that would make it better was if the creek was part of the farmhouse property. Absolutely nothing bad to say about it. If we ever come to Walland again this will definitely be where we stay!

Beautiful home!
We stayed at this beautiful property for 2 nights. The owners were VERY quick to respond about anything, even before the trip even began or late at night. We did have a small issue with sheets on one of the beds upstairs when we got there, but the owner came by first thing the next morning and had it all taken care of. This house has everything you could possibly need during your stay. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!
