All Hadestown Events

Hadestown, a musical written by Anais Mitchell, tells a version of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. A young girl, Eurydice, goes to work in the industrial underworld to escape proverty, where he meets the singer-songwriter Orpheus. The two come together to show the others ways to escape the hardships they are going through. Hadestown first premiered in Barre in 2006. Later on in 2012, Mitchell, along with director Rachel Chavkin, reworked the whole play with additional songs and dialogues and since then, Hadestown has been one of the first choices of musicals by theatre lovers! The Broadway production opened to critical acclaim and received numerous awards and nominations. At the 73rd Tony Awards, Hadestown received 14 nominations and won eight of them, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

First National Tour!
