John Mayer Ticket Information

Multi-talented singer-songwriter John Mayer has become one of the most recognized names in music since releasing his debut album, Room for Squares, in 2001. It quickly shot up the Billboard 200 chart and the hit single “Your Body Is a Wonderland” eventually earned him a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. He’s since gone on to release a total of 7 studio albums, which have won him another 6 Grammys, including Song of the Year for 2004’s “Daughters” and Best Pop Vocal Album for Continuum. On top of his smooth vocals, Mayer has been praised for his incredible guitar skills and ability to tackle nearly any kind of music. Though most of his career is widely considered to be planted in acoustic pop rock, he’s woven everything from blues to country to hip hop into his music and collaborated with greats such as Eric Clapton and B.B. King. In 2015, Mayer teamed up with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead to form Dead & Company, a group that has toured around the country every year since performing updated versions of Grateful Dead hits. Whether you want to catch John Mayer in a solo show or get tickets to see him play alongside Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, there are plenty of ways to experience him live.

John Mayer History & Tours

John Mayer first became fascinated with the guitar after seeing Michael J. Fox play one in the 1985 comedy Back to the Future. He began taking guitar lessons at age 13, and within a few years, he was playing cover songs at local bars and clubs. After high school, Mayer enrolled at the Berklee College of Music, but dropped out after 2 semesters to move to Atlanta and pursue a career in music. He teamed up with college friend Clay Cook, now of the Zac Brown Band, and the duo began performing together around the city. Mayer, however, had a desire to move more toward pop music than the bluesy tunes they were playing, and they parted ways so he could pursue a solo career. With the help of a local producer, he recorded an EP, began touring around Georgia and nearby states, and was eventually signed by Columbia Records. Since then, he’s collaborated with a range of artists from Kanye West to Taylor Swift, and has toured alongside the likes of Maroon 5, Ben Folds, and Sheryl Crow. Though John Mayer doesn’t have any solo performances scheduled for 2018, you can still see the singer-songwriter in action with tickets to the Dead & Company Summer Tour. Catch the band from May through August in cities such as Cincinnati, New York City, Los Angeles, Boulder, and at the Gorge Amphitheater in Eastern Washington.
